Daemon Tools / Sega CD

Hello all... I am having a lot of trouble with Sega CD and Daemon Tools. I have DT working with Sega Saturn thanks to Gigapigs walkthrough but am unable to get Sega CD up and running. I have all the paths mapped correctly as far as 7Zip, DT, Roms and Fusion. I get to the screen where it says "No disk". I am able to get my files working outside of HLHQ by mounting the file, starting Fusion, then selecting boot sega cd. That is the only way it will actually run. I downloaded a few games from PD just to toy with and they are in .CCD format. Most prefer bin/cue but these (I thought) would be simpler. The settings are DT=True, Use SCSI= True, I have the correct drive listed in Fusion as well.

If I leave "Computer" open while waiting for HLHQ to start Sega CD, I can see that there is never any image being mounted... am I missing something entirely stupid or am I losing my mind. I have tried numerous methods from all the reading I have done (Turning of DT, Turning off SCSI, Unzipping files, leaving them Zipped... nothing seems to work)

Any tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated. I just don't understand why Daemon Tools will not mount the image from within HLHQ. I also noticed that within DT, when I go through HLHQ there is nothing showing up in "Recent Images".

I am using Fusion V3.64

HLHQ V 3.0.0.9

Please help!

I guess I am alone in this... I will post something when I figure this out. I have been checking more things and trying different combinations all day but to no avail...

@damnedregistrations - That is my next option... I think I will just give that a shot, it can't hurt. EDIT: RetroArch doesn't originally support CCD, but I will try anyway and add that in.

@showstopper - Do you have the ccd files or bin/cue? I am not sure why but I have read you do not need DT if you have one or the other. How do you have it set up in HLHQ? I got the ccd files thinking that was the case, rather upsetting!

I really think these CCD files are what's killing me. I really do not get why nothing is being mounted or opened!

Thanks for the replies!

I thought so... I may have to scrap these and grab them. This is a nightmare, just tried RetroArch (that was not fun to set up) and Gens. Neither worked... How upsetting. These were from PD and "HS Ready"... sigh

Yep Showstopper is quite right, I never realised it myself but DT is not needed, just tested it.

Mine are zipped bin and cue files.

I just downloaded a few bin/cue files to test. I was remoted in to my computer at home (as I am at work), right when the download finished and I was getting ready to test, my home internet connection went down. SMH. This is a sign that this was just not meant to be. I just wanted to play Lunar again. ARGH!

Edit: Thanks for that Sega Saturn walk through, I got that up and running and figured this would be just as smooth, boy was I wrong!

Do you think that may have any effect on this situation, I noticed that but wasn't sure how that may effect things. Really, didn't want to have to fix everything LOL

I don't get it... some people on there say it works fine, others have problems. I'm lost!

Yeah not sure. I managed to get an invite to BG but there are not many people there and so it is VERY hard to build a ratio up.

Im gonna look into a seedbox soon and then try to up my ratio there.

Good idea. I like to download a few files and test before I download monster torrents, one torrent can kill a ratio quick!

Just a tease, sorry.

The above I got working normally no problem, but the other one "Lunar - Eternal Blue (USA)" does not work even if I extract it and load it into fusion. All I get is the CD Bios screen.

I have Lunar... I was not able to get the CCD Games working but I downloaded a few bin/cue games just to try and sure enough, it fired up first try without hesitation... so if this happens to anyone else, I gave up on the CCD!

@Dark- Get the CUE file pack from PD if you are having ccd issues.

Can you create a SCSI drive in DT Lite directly? I found that some versions wouldn't allow a SCSI drive to be created and the module would silently fail.
