Hey. First of all, sry for my english, isn't the best and I hope this is the right thread. I have a problem with my Retroarch intigration to Hyperspin too. So, what I want, is a "per game" config for retroarch. I tried older, and the newest version of retroArch, did some long research in the www to find a solution for my problem. Nothing worked for me. That realy frustraded me. I'm sittig for houres here to get it to work.

What work are the "per core" config... . Thats cool, but,  I dont will use the same control settings (!)  for every game of one System. Also, it would be nice to have different shaders, cheats ( unlock charakters in fighting games as example),  per game .  someone knows how I get this to work?  The most inportend point are the custom control settings per game

@Murderbazz good job on the English.

i think whatever version of retroarch you use controller configs are dealt with in the "quick menu"

launch a game

bring up the retroarch menu

go to quick menu -> controls

scroll down to user1 set of buttons and hit left/right to assign a new button

hit "save game remap file"

depending on where you have your directories setup to save the game controls file will be saved to the "config" folder

eg. For NES game Super Mario Bros (USA) with Nestopia core

location :-

(your path)/config/remaps/Nestopia/Super Mario Bros (USA).rmp

for all the other stuff you are best off getting the latest version of Retroarch and using the override system instead of per core configs.

i have not bothered yet but I had a play around and it looks easy to save GAME or CORE overrides.

you must be certain on where you have your directories setup.

(ignore if you are rooted)

Hyperspin uses a different retroarch.cfg file when games are launched.

You need to:-

boot any game

open retroarch menu

Close the core

change any base settings

setup your config director (Settings->Directory->config directory)(also change remaps directory)

same for cheats and saves and a couple of others but best leave everything else alone

find "save current config" on the main home screen hit that

go down to quit and hit that.

this should get on the way

wow thx that help me a lot.  I kow now how I can make custom  controller configs in RetroArch. This was a big step.

But, I would to say, the menu navigation of retroarch is realy confusing.  I never seen / find  the quick menu before. But okey...  Diferent controll configurations works mow , a realy big and importand step for me today :)

I read somting about the " override system " in retroarch too, but i don't find a option to save an overriding coonfiguration per game /core. ( but i din't found the quick menue too so, i will search again...)

Can I change the basic settings in RetroArch direct, or need I realy  boot a  game ins HS / RL  and close the core befor? I tried it, but RetroArch will crash after I close the core.

Big thx to  you =)

fyi for override system you need the Latest version of Retroarch go to the libretro home page and navigate to downloads and find a "Nightly" correct to your system

Oh sry >.< I used the search enging of the forum to see if somebody ask this question allready.  I don't know that this thead her is ftom the android forum. nonetheless. With youre help I find out what I do wrong. I played a little with the shaders options and retroarch created a new folder in the config folder  with the name "Mupen64Plus". If I copy know a config file named bye the name of my Game, retroarch load the custom config now. Befor, I tried it on the same way, but I give the folder the wrong name "mupen64plus_libretro" ( The name of the core). That's it. Now everything works fine. Thank you you help me a lot :D

They got rid of per core a little too soon if you ask me. Overide is a awesome idea but it fails in one major area which is why I choose to not use it, video drivers.

If you have vulkan selected in the retroarch config but you want to use gl in a couple cores it breaks said cores. The problem lies in how overrides work, it loads the retroarch.cfg then depending on what core is used changes the settings that are different. So if you load a core with different video driver settings, it will not work because it would need to reload retroarch.

If you are using the same driver for every core overrides are pretty slick. If your like me and need different drivers for different cores you need to do what I described in one of the first few posts, it's just like per core but requires a little more work to get it started. But once you make and rename the individual core settings it will work exactly like per core including auto saving of the settings.

Shaders will still work the new way of making a new shader file with the settings for the core/game which is awesome.

Ok thanks. Got it working.

Can't find a filter I like to work properly at 8x resolution. Plus my old crt-geom-flat no longer works with this version. It won't even recognize it. But the real reason I don't use Retroarch for PSX is the lack of multidisc support. You can create 3mu files but that's too much work.

I'll keep it for now but I think I'll stick to my Retroarch install.

Hey, M3U with RetroArch module is stupid simple now. Just extract your MultiDisc games in your rom directory and the module pretty much does everything else... Easy peasy

Do they multidisks need to be extracted first? All my roms are compressed in rar5 format. Or ca I compress them all together in one archive?

I'm assuming all games with multiple disks need extracted into bin and cue files correct?

Can you give an example?

I have 2 rom paths for PSX. Single Disc. MultiDisc.

Single disc are rar5
Multi are extracted in folders (bin/cue)

So do you name the folders the same exact name as the game?
I'll give it a go. Does this work for the 3DO as well or only PSX?

Same as XML. PSX only
