ci2own Posted February 26, 2017 Posted February 26, 2017 Does someone know if is there any issue with this 3 games? Ninja Hayate Time Gal Time Traveler I can run all other games, but this. I get this error when look at the daphne log: Unknown game type specified: hayate Bad command line or initialization problem. I realized that in RL modules folder, Daphne.ini doesn't have any reference about this 3 games. Could be this the problem?
Metalzoic Posted February 26, 2017 Posted February 26, 2017 Yes. Because those aren't normal Daphne games. You run them with Daphne Singe. Ron has tutorials here for both Daphne and Daphne Singe. Follow his guides and you should be good.
ci2own Posted February 26, 2017 Author Posted February 26, 2017 Maybe this is why i wasn't able to run it. i supose i can run some games with Daphne and others with Daphne Singe on the same System. Never tried before. Thanks @agent47 and @Metalzoic .

ci2own Posted February 27, 2017 Author Posted February 27, 2017 Unfortunately most of the links on this tutorials are broken. I have been able to run games out of HyperSpin. I set up an Alternate Emulator on Daphne system for those three games, but there's no place to point to the .bat files. How can i point to the .bat files?
goofers Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 You set them through the singe emu like you did with the ALG games
ci2own Posted February 27, 2017 Author Posted February 27, 2017 1 minute ago, goofers said: You set them through the singe emu like you did with the ALG games But do i have to do it in American Laser Games Tab? Or in Daphne Tab? On Daphne Tab i can't point to the .bat file on Alternate Emulators
BATTLEDONKEY Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 Are you using rocketlauncher? First set up daphne singe in the global emulators list, then If you want a merged list of all games under Daphne, you would need an xml with all the games, then from the Daphne section on the left, click the the emulators tab, click the + button at the bottom of the screen to add alternate emulators ie. Daphne singe. Forgot to say, to set up which games use the alternate emulator (daphne singe) go to the games tab, then right below you will see a tab called alternate emulators, click it and add which games that require an alternate emulator

(Like i do with American Laser Games System)
BATTLEDONKEY Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 Are your .bat files named the same as the xml? And in that same screens shot the name of the game matches the rom and xml? And under the global emulators, singe is set up correctly? I might be forgetting something, but that's all I can think of and rocketlauncher should find the file by name and launch it

But Daphne (No Singe) points to .txt files (Not .bat) and don't have field to point to .bat obviously. And when use Alternate Emulator, there's no field to point to .bat file due it's in Daphne system Tab i guess.
BATTLEDONKEY Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 Sorry, I thought it was just a matter of pointing it to the alternate emulators and rocketlauncher would just find the .bat files and launch them. Hopefully someone can chime in with a better answer to this one cause I'm stumped now too

wesfranks Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 You have a choice between two "Alternate Emulators" to run these Singe games in your Daphne system wheel. If you use the Singe module as the "Alternate Emulator", the rom folder path points to your Singe framefiles (txt) which should have the above three games' framefiles, as well as framefiles for ALG and ActionMax games, if you have those installed. The framefile for that game specifies the folder that contains the video/audio files to run as well as the game script (singe) file which controls what scene in the video is displayed. This method bypasses bat files by using information you enter to set up the Singe module/system to structure the command line and start the game with proper settings. Since the Singe module sets up the command line, it doesn't use the game bat files. If you choose to use the bat file method to launch those three games as the "Alternate Emulator", you have to use the PCLauncher module. If you look at the module, it already has ALG listed in the MSystem header for this eventuality. Each game entry would have to point to its own bat file. If the game loads successfully and then errors back to RocketLauncher after a few seconds, you may also have to set a fade title for each game.
wesfranks Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 This might help..... Three games set up under Daphne wheel using ALG as the alternate system loading with the Singe Module (first method above). With the second method (not pictured here), the only thing that should change is PCLauncher as the emulator.

Daphne Singe doesn't use .txt extensions to load games. In your setup, what extensions are used to load this games?
Metalzoic Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 Mines a bit different. First I added those games into my LaserDisc Classics database, here's an example: <game name="timegal" index="true" image="t"> <description>Time Gal</description> <cloneof></cloneof> <crc></crc> <manufacturer>Taito</manufacturer> <year>1985</year> <genre>Action</genre> <rating>AAMA - Yellow (Animated Violence Mild)</rating> <enabled>Yes</enabled> </game> <game name="tq" index="true" image="t"> <description>Thayer's Quest</description> <cloneof></cloneof> <crc></crc> <manufacturer>RDI Video Systems</manufacturer> <year>1984</year> <genre>Adventure</genre> <rating>AAMA - Green (Suitable For All Ages)</rating> <enabled>Yes</enabled> </game> I didn't make an ALG system/wheel. And I left my Singe module settings in RocketLauncher all as Default. ll seems to work good.

I didn't make an ALG system/wheel, but still use a bat file to launch them using the Singe module. In my Singe>Framefiles folder I have bat files for the game. So Hayate.bat is: @H:\Hyperspin\emulators\daphne_singe\daphne.exe singe vldp -x 800 -y 600 -fullscreen_window -framefile H:\Hyperspin\emulators\daphne_singe\singe\hayate\frame-hayate.txt -script H:\Hyperspin\emulators\daphne_singe\singe\hayate\hayate.singe My module settings for Singe in RocketLauncher I left all as Default. What extension do you have in Daphne Singe "Global Emulators" Tab? Because i only have .singe extensions. So if you use a .bat file it wont load. Sorry to ask you too much, but i don't understand how to run this 3 games through hyperspin. (I can run it outside without problems with the .bat file)
Metalzoic Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 Sorry, I was wrong and confused the issue. I don't use the Bat files to launch the game at all. I launch them just like Wesfranks said above. The rompath points straight to the Singe files in the Singe>Hayate or Singe>timegal folders. So my LaserDisc system points towards both rompaths, all games are in the single database, and you set the Singe games to launch with the alternate Singe emulator under the games tab in RocketLauncher.

Thanks so much for helping me to solve the problem!
