KorbarnDK Posted March 20, 2017 Posted March 20, 2017 I've been looking for a frontend for a while, bought the BigBox only to find out a total waste of money, then I found hyperspin a week ago and a pack with the whole thing, backgrounds, animations, gameplay videos, box art, etc., and I thought "okay, let's give it a try". Dafuq was I thinking, since then I've been on top of it for days just downloading, configuring, getting into inception-like spiral web searches and figuring it out. I'm not sleeping well, can't eat, got sick, lost my job, kids and family. The most amazing thing, I still haven't played anything. Nice experience though.
Metalzoic Posted March 20, 2017 Posted March 20, 2017 Did you also follow the step by step tutorials here to setup Hyperspin with RocketLauncher? The guides are pretty straightforward and if you follow them should be up and running in no time. What is this pack you downloaded? Sent from my SM-G935V
RLBradders26 Posted March 20, 2017 Posted March 20, 2017 Hyperspin is a never ending drug that means you will never have any spare time ever again! Welcome

I actually stumble across Hyperspin when searching at tpb for roms. There was this list of torrents called The Hyperspin Project, each torrent had approximately 90 gb of data. But it turns out it wasn't very complete, and I found myself having to edit a lot of databases by hand. Also none of the packages came with emulators, so I'm struggling quite a bit to make things work with RetroArch. I will take a look at the guides though, maybe that gives me the light I need, thanks.

Dubbloseven Posted March 21, 2017 Posted March 21, 2017 I don't think hyperspin, frontends or the arcade hobby is for everyone. It is more of a hobby than any one quick plug and play solution. Though it's very rewarding and worth setting up if your willing to invest some time in the hobby. It's fairly easy to grab a few emulators and game sets and just launch and play them from desktop or quick launch menu's, without the trouble of a front end or rocketlauncher. there's nothing wrong with that. Tons of added bonuses and advantages to everything working and setup, and some disadvantages. Just have to weigh what works best for you, or how you want to play. If its too much effort and time for gamers, I recommend getting into a few good PC games. Steam, GOG, Blizzard, or just straight up emu's and roms to launch and play. You can break from setup anytime and play game sets too, be patient with your end goal. My YouTube Channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCx0yXVItMU6uz4z5hUavGgA
