Mykillvee Posted May 23, 2017 Posted May 23, 2017 When revising one of my themes, I noticed something again and again and I could not figure it out. Some of my logos and artwork looked very jaggy and low res, but all of my art was in HD resolution when viewed separately from Hyperspin. The problem? One word...."blur" Whenever the blur animation is used, the Artwork turns ugly. I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this. I've been trying to go back to some of my older themes to eliminate the blur animation and replace it with a different animation, and it's kind of a pain, but much better results in the end.
Mykillvee Posted May 23, 2017 Author Posted May 23, 2017 I've also found that "grow blur" makes the artwork look this way, so I guess it's anything to do with a blur effect.
Avar Posted May 23, 2017 Posted May 23, 2017 @Mykillvee While some of the jaggies in that one are likely present in the raw image itself, like @Kondorito mentioned the best thing you can do is use the HD conversion scripts to also make a 4:3 HD version and, if you'd like, a 16:9 HD version. They make a huge difference in quality. That being said, the nature of themes will likely be changing so up to you to determine if it's worth your time. It's a pretty quick process though, especially if you already have the assets handy. Personally, I think it's worth it.
Suhrvivor Posted May 23, 2017 Posted May 23, 2017 Some effects don't use filter or use very low quality filter when resizing. That's a issue with Hyperspin itself, not the artwork, I found. If you want to avoid that you can run Hyperspin in native resolution (1024x768). If you are making themes, try using the effects that have proper filter (Ease, fade, bounce, grow bounce, zoom out, are some of them I remember).
