Mame Artwork Vs Rocketlauncher Bezel

Hi I am caught between which is best suited for mame is it the bezels placed in the rocketlauncher\media\bezel\mame folder or the zipped bezels you can put in the mame\artwork folder as i know they both have different formats like layfiles compared to bezel ini files ? I have Lots Of Both Amassed from various places so i am going to go one way or the other as i dont like doubles all over the place and like to keep things tidy so i guess the question really is which do the community prefer and what are the pros n cons of them both ?

Great question AK45... and another one that just comes down to personal preference. Mame's own artwork looks great IMO but they do chew up a lot of screen space. Too much for a lot of games really.  The RL bezels look even better! Most of them include a little "actual bezel" that goes around the screen. Looks fantastic! But each creator has their own style so it doesn't create the look of a "set" really. Finally, I think Metalzoic here has a collection of most (if not all) bezels created here but they have been altered slightly, opting for more game resolution so some of the artwork gets cut off... but it does fill in the black space. It is probably the most comprehensive collection too as not all the authors are trying to be exactly like the actual machine or anything. They are free to do games that mame will probably never have proper artwork for.

Nothing much to add as Spawk covered to generals. 

Phulshof the RetroFE dev has prolly the best mame direct bezel set that includes all the Metalzoic pack and more. Zoics set is not updated anymore but Phulshofs is generally updated inline with latest mame version.

I dont use RL but I think theres more tricks that can be done with the bezel feature than mame but not sure

thanks guys i think for now ill keep both and have a play around wih mame and see how things go..i guess your right when its personal choice but just wanted to make sure one didnt outweigh the other to much

thankyou so much hellsing i will check them out for sure as i have already quite a few which you have done which are really terrific and i was i had your talents but i guess thats why god made a download button for us less talented souls anyway i keep getting sidetracked as i start doing one thing and sometimes it leads onto something else and so on and so on but i'll hit the download button and add them to my collection ?

on a quick sidenote what does the "upvote" button do ? i always super like but if upvote is better i'll use that
