Super old post, but it seems like DEmul is the best way... at least for now.

The reicast core for Retroarch plays Atomiswave and Naomi games now. I play Hokuto no Ken on my phone all the time, there was also a console port for the PS2

That's great to hear! How smoothly does it work?

It's been out some time now, think it released around this time last year.

Naomi had issues not being able to bind all the controls so still a WIP, I haven't checked it recently. Atomiswave runs great, I was using Naomi converted Roms but it's supposed to support the mame versions now too.

RA even has a reicast core now for the Dreamcast games that use WinCE

I'll back that up, reicast core in retroarch works great.

Good performance on android and older systems too! I actually have more trouble emulating some atomiswave games on it than naomi though for some reason, it could be title specific.

FOTNS was one of the few that run flawlessly though.

As said it's been available for a year or so but had significant improvement to file support (mame rom support) and less jumping through hoops to set it up over that time. I did read that the latest core has more of a performance hit though due to them doing some different stuff under the hood.

There's some bios stuff to move around, though try and find newer information as they've made it easier to setup than it initially was.

Demul works great.  HOWEVER - You need to shut off v-sync to prevent stuttering.  I set up a custom profile on my graphics card software just to disable v-sync on the demul.exe executable.
