jeepguy81 Posted May 2, 2011 Author Posted May 2, 2011 SORHP, here's the cockpit... I took a few liberties with moving around a few gauges, so hopefully nobody is looking to be historically accurate lol. I added a few small details in the .psd file you can change around, obviously the background viewed through the side windows is just temporary, change those to whatever you want. I looked at "1945 III" and im not sure if we want to use this or not, as there is no P-38 in the game, they are all fairly modern fighters. I'm sure we can come up with something, and 1945plus is horizontal. I will send you a link for the psd when i get home tonight. - Vertical-Cocktail Cab Theme Project
jeepguy81 Posted May 4, 2011 Author Posted May 4, 2011 Hat Trick... I came across this game by accident but I think it's great in a cocktail cab. Technically it's supposed to be played normally in horizontal raster, BUT, rotate it vertically and with the overhead view of the ice rink, it lends itself to a great 2player cocktail game. I did have to setup the player controls in the game, once the game is rotated up turns to left, left to down and so on. One part that can't really be changed and may bug people is when it's rotated in mame, obviously the title screen will be rotated, since this isn't a natively vertically raster game. Not sure if anyone else would want the game in their setup, but I did a theme anyway. ***In game shot*** - Vertical-Cocktail Cab Theme Project

jeepguy81 Posted May 7, 2011 Author Posted May 7, 2011 ah, on the ftp, my folder, under additional artwork are new .swf files to replace the current special artwork. That should fix the jump forward..etc. The game text is removed from the settings.ini file. Under [Game Text] game_text_active=true ...change to false. looks like you should be clear after that. the exit screen im not sure actually, didn't think of that lol. But should work, i'll go boot it up and see. - Vertical-Cocktail Cab Theme Project

jeepguy81 Posted May 7, 2011 Author Posted May 7, 2011 lol, yeah it's late. Be sure to disable special artwork C, thats for genres. And just delete the pointer graphic *** Ok, got an exit menu for ya, up on the ftp, my folder under additional artwork is an Exit_Menu_vert.zip Just unzip the contents of it to the Media/Frontend/Images folder. Should over write the old files. I may be tired but I think it works lol, lemme know. - Vertical-Cocktail Cab Theme Project
jahilton2002 Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 yeah works great... i had to rotate the arrow 90* but after that it worked great...... just the fav/genre screen now top and fast work yet again
jeepguy81 Posted May 7, 2011 Author Posted May 7, 2011 i'll look on the ftp again, maybe i forgot to put the rotated arrow, but im glad it worked. Yeah the the fav screen i will have to play with later tonight, that one might be trickier due to how the arrow moves. On exit it technically moves L/R, the favs moves up n down, so i'll have to see if it follows the graphic placement. - Vertical-Cocktail Cab Theme Project
jeepguy81 Posted May 9, 2011 Author Posted May 9, 2011 Thanks abispac, glad peep enjoy these. OK, think i got a favorites worked out, the movement of the arrows is set so can't really change the distance they move, or direction so had to made due with image dimensions. It's a tad lop sided, but i guess it works lol. I will upload it tonight, I also reworked the exit menu images so the two menus match, that will go up as well. **I included the right arrow this time, named it wrong last time. will post when they are up on ftp - Vertical-Cocktail Cab Theme Project

abispac Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 Im having a small problem and hope someone can help me, when i test this whole setup on my dualcore machine, it runs just fine, so i started buildig my cocktail cabinet (picks soon). Then i transfered all of my setup to the laptop im goin to use for the cab, and i notice the whell got way to slow, so i thought it was the computer, but regular hyperspin setup runs just fine, so i tested running the hyperspin cocktail setup with a regular wheel and that seems to fix the problem as it runs just fine, however i cant seem to get the regular wheel at the bottom of the screen, wich is to the left side, only to the top wich its on the right, as i dont mind having the circular type wheel to gain speed. Is there a way to place the regular wheel on the left side? thanks for any help.
SORHP Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 ... that would be a question for JeepGuy81. It doesn't make sense to me that the wheel gets slow, this vert set is low rez, keep checking your settings, something must have gotten changed in the transition. My Arcade Machines...
jeepguy81 Posted May 15, 2011 Author Posted May 15, 2011 abispac - odd little problem there. So everything is setup on your laptop for these themes, but the wheel is slow. Is it the wheel rotation, from one game to the next that is slow, or is it the whole theme that is slow as well? The only diff between the cocktail wheels and any other normal HS wheel is a slight size difference and their orientation is rotated, and HS doesn't do any of the rotating so im not sure why it would slow anything down. The existing wheel pics could be used, but they would have to be edited a little to fit in place. It may be a slight pain, but i would start out fresh instead of copying from one setup to another. Since your having a wheel problem, maybe start with just the default theme and making the changes to setup the wheels first and see if it works. What are the specs on your laptop? I have a few older laptops sitting around maybe I can see if I have any probs. - Vertical-Cocktail Cab Theme Project
