Cocktail cab themes

Here is a spreadsheet list of the games currently with themes in this set, I will try to keep this updated as more vertical themes are created. (this includes all of SORHP's shmup themes)

So after reading a few mentions that v2.0 of HS may include support for vertical orientation it kinda makes my project a little null, but figured I'd share anyway.

Few weeks ago a buddy of mine got to finishing the bar in his basement. For entertainment instead of a full cab he decided he wanted to go with a cocktail cab, he loves the old school games, pacman, zaxxon.... So a cocktail cab with all vertically oriented games is what he's doin. He's also wants to use HS.

I've read a few peep trying some things for a vertical layout so i figured i'd give it a shot. I mean this is THE most customizable front end there is!!

So here's what I got thus far...

Here are some of the tables and wheels I've done so far...

I went with the cocktail style artwork cause i thought it was something that hasn't really been used before. Some artwork i recreated cause the pics i could find were really bad. And some were never really done in a cocktail format so i took a little creative liberty, or used existing bezel art if available and seemed to work well.

The themes are put together a little different, neither the backgrounds or artwork4's glass overlay are included. Neither one of use could decide if we liked the glass or not, while it adds a cool layer, the artwork in a few of the themes are much brighter without it. So artwork4 folder has a rack of the same image, just all named differently lol. The same with the background images. I gave him 3 ideas so far, but again it kinda leaves for him to personally customize it.

the wood is a pic of his bartop, carbonfiber, and stained carpet (weird but i remember the cocktail cab in a pizza joint by my house, and it was dirty carpet lol)

Special artwork arrows on bottom, and free play, press start up top.

Some of the tables i have dupes of because i thought they were kinda unique, call me a sucker for nostalgia.

I'm gonna keep plugging away at all of the vertically oriented games, he wants as many as he can get, thankfully there are only a finite number of them lol.

This was a really creative endeavor, I don't see any downside to you having put these together. Your buddy is lucky to have you to help him with his cab!

Of course, I just waited till now to post anything until I was relatively happy with placements and settings. If peep would like to use these I'll throw them together in a pack. I'll include a readme because there are some HQ settings that need adjusted, and to explain where to place graphic files. Donnei1979 is giving me a hand with that, my super tester!! Making sure it all makes sense when someone else puts it together.

As i do more tables i'll post them up here and on the ftp.

Damn those wheel images are sick. Love the creative use of the themes also. That will be a top notch cocktail there. Will you be sharing your themes and wheels? You can also see a bug in HS that I messed up on in your video, you can see all the wheel images are layered wrong and stacked left to right where really it should stack lower as it goes outward from the center wheel. Thats already fixed in the next version. You definitely need to get warlords on there.

I've got a few more tables i'd like to get done before putting them into a pack, still a ways away from having them all done but putting something out will at least give everyone something to work with if needed in their build.

Man, I'd really appreciate if you share your fantastic wheels.

Actually, I plan to use them in my lil' vertical cab (I made a scratch build 70% pacman replica as my first mamecab for my son : see this french Thread - To see the finished cab, look page 14 )

Can't wait for the new HS to be available. I'll make a simple Mame vertical theme for this cab then, using your wheels.

I'd like to find some flash selection arrows too (on each side of the selected wheel), like the one used in maximus arcade. But dunno if I can find that somewhere on this forum.
