KMHamel Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 I just uploaded all the genre xml's to the ftp file. Jeepguy, were you going to design a fancy main page graphic for your vertical machine? I'm using the main page for switching between 1 player games, (1 or 2) player games, and steaming tv.

KMHamel Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 As in a systems menu kinda of way? From your main page you are launching into either one of your 1p, 2p genres? Yes, instead of different systems, I run two mame systems one called "1 Player" and the other called "1 or2 player". Both use the same mame emulator but different hyperspin data sets.
abispac Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 Heres a quick weel i did on sinistar....not to nice but it works...
jeepguy81 Posted April 13, 2011 Author Posted April 13, 2011 abispac - glad you enjoy the themes, and thanks for the game ideas. It's not that im running out, waaaay to many games for that. I just randomly pull a game out of the hat to work on and figured i'd just see if anyone had a suggestion, and every one does! lol also glad to see ur using the autokustom wheel templates! KMHamel - gotcha, well I hadn't thought about that, but now that you have the xml's I'm sure I can come up with something. - Vertical-Cocktail Cab Theme Project

jeepguy81 Posted April 14, 2011 Author Posted April 14, 2011 So here's a general question to anyone currently using this theme set, or anyone currently in a build process. I've had a good number of messages, and it's even been noted in this thread, about the overall rotation of the themes. I've done some poking around ebay, normal auctions, and random sellers that have cocktail cabs, and there do seem to be more available cabs out there that have the monitor rotation sitting opposite of how this layout is designed currently. I know a few of you, SORHP i think is one, is using a small app to rotate windows in the appropriate way you need for your setup. I've been toying around with re-working the overall theme to line up a little bit more with what seem to be a good majority of the cabs out there. Of course if your making yours from scratch, or replacing the old monitor with an lcd or something, then it may not affect you that much. I just wanted to get a feel for what anyone using these would think of this. Besides things may have to change when 2.0 rolls out anyway, but that is another haystack to jump in later lol. Please post your thoughts..... - Vertical-Cocktail Cab Theme Project
KMHamel Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 My monitor (lcd) was rotated opposite of the grapics, I just bit th bullet and undid the hinges on my top and rotated the whole thing. I just watch the cables when I open the lid. All is good now.
SORHP Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 I like things the way they are, but only because Im used to it, and all of the themes are already perfect, if the rotation changes, it may only be an issue (for me using irotate) to change a string in my startup and shutdown scripts, so no biggie there if thats all that changes ( but if 2.0 changes everything entirely, the themes may all have to be converted to new format), Just my thoughts (by the way... my monitor is actually backwards when trying to work with hyperpin, vp and any other pinball tables, but thats my fault for not researching before I mounted my 23inch 16x9 hdtv in the cab) My Arcade Machines...
jeepguy81 Posted April 15, 2011 Author Posted April 15, 2011 very cool, only thing that bugs me is the cave logo, that big white block looks really out of place. Not sure about the wheel, shoot me that logo ur using, i got an idea - Vertical-Cocktail Cab Theme Project
jeepguy81 Posted April 15, 2011 Author Posted April 15, 2011 KMHamel, heres a quick idea about ur main menu, not fully fleshed out yet.... 1 Player 2 Player 2 Player doesn't have any graphics on it yet, for player 1 i looked at your xml's and grabbed some graphics i had for games on that list, although i think i put super pacman on the wrong one lol. I gotta few more little ideas for it, so i'll keep pluggin away at it. Ideas??? rough video, sorry: _h2mTxw9wCA - Vertical-Cocktail Cab Theme Project
SORHP Posted April 15, 2011 Posted April 15, 2011 changed cave logo, rest needs a little touch up... I uploaded the psd for the wheel for you to look at Jeep, thanks My Arcade Machines...
KMHamel Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 Pretty cool, Brings the table alive. Would you be willing to do a custom theme for my Streaming tv? I access it using the main screen just like the player 1 and player1&2. I call it "PUB TV". Sports go well with arcade games. As for Ideas.... Im going to have to leave it to those with artistic talent. I'm one of those guys, if I dress in other than basic colors, need to match the animals on my shirt and pants to make sure they go together But I do know what I like, and I like what you are doing!
jeepguy81 Posted April 16, 2011 Author Posted April 16, 2011 sent u a PM - Vertical-Cocktail Cab Theme Project
browser Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 Hi Jeep and KMHamel, Let me know if you are willing to share the 1 or 2 player themes. Would love to add those to my rig as I dont have many other systems and focus on the classic arcade stuff as a result. Thanks,
