Hello. I'm making my life collection at Hyperspin. Now I set Sega Saturn and I have a problem. I used SSF, both beta and R4. I have a black screen after starting the game. Is ISO supposed to be in Daemon Tools? Setting the game in XML is not enough? --- Maybe the UoYabause emulator is better? In configuration for sure. But at Hyperspin? UoYabause does not require virtual cd. Does anyone have an AHK file? --- Please help, I used Google Translator

By far the best in Retroarch using the Saturn Mednafen core. You can then add some shaders to make those ugly games look better.

best retroarch with its cores

2 the stand alone version of mednafen their is no need for virtual drives.  when the support for Sega Saturn first came out their was no support for Japanese titles,

i"m not sure if that is still the case.

3. SSF  WITH CHD SUPPORT!!!!,  their was an update to SSF a few years ago.  someone put out a bounty for CHD support.

meaning that you DO NOT !!!! use ISOs or a virtual drive.  download that version and go download the MAME  Sega Saturn CHD files.

Mednafen 100%. Plus you can forget about Daemon tools. You shouldn't need a virtual drive for any emulator, once I discovered that the setup become much easier.

Again, mednafen in retroarch (beetle saturn core). Best compatibility + crt shaders.

The only problem is it requires much more cpu power than SSF and you need bin+cue romsets, RA don't like .cue that load multiple tracks.
Yabause is really terrible.

Anyway SSF works like a charm with RL+Daemon tool. You can also rar5 the isos, RL unrar it, mount the iso on DT and launch the game, then erase the iso when you exit the game. To avoid hard disk stress you can also unrar in a ramdrive (imdisk https://sourceforge.net/projects/imdisk-toolkit/)

OK thanks. I use MEDNAFEN + GUI. In the emulator, the ISO part works, and some do not. I do not know why.

Where can I find AHK for MEDNAFEN - HyperSpin?:/

There's one shipped with RocketLauncher that works great. See attached for current version.

Mednafen.ahk

Mednafen.isd

and video (amazing frontend!):

I thought it would combine posts

I'll take a wild guess and say you're either not using Rocketlauncher (from where the ahk was pulled) or your version of Rocketlauncher is out of date.

I know that the names are different. I change names, but the remaining systems work. I change folders and xml files. AHK for hyperspin are simple:

RunWait,% executable% "% romName%",% emuPath% Process, WaitClose, DOSBox.exe Gui Destroy ExitApp CloseProcess: return

For RockeLauncher they are complicated

ok, I have new knowledge. Saturn has a lock region: die hard USA, works on BIOS USA. I came back to SSF because I have an AHK file from the default package (i.e. it probably works). I'm using the Test version and I still have a black screen. Does anyone here emulate Sega SATURN in HYPERSPIN?
----edit:
Geez, come out a new version of the best Saturn emulator - YabaSanshiro (Yabause clone). Emulator does not require fun with Daemon, has a free region, no bios ... Can anyone create an AHK module?
