ceason87 Posted October 10, 2019 Posted October 10, 2019 Hi guys, I know most if not all of the HyperList xml files are now outdated but there serving me as a base to start with but is it just me or do some of the xlml's have incorrect crc information. as an example i'm currently trying to get a complete (at least according to Hyperlist xml) romset for the Atari Lynx but am unable to locate 4 specific games (xml extract below) <game name="Basketbrawl (USA, Europe)" index="true" image="b"> <description>Basketbrawl (USA, Europe)</description> <cloneof></cloneof> <crc>D0EE9038</crc> <manufacturer>Atari</manufacturer> <year>1992</year> <genre>Basketball/Sports</genre> <rating>HSRS - GA (General Audience)</rating> <enabled>Yes</enabled> </game> <game name="Crystal Mines II (USA, Europe)" index="" image=""> <description>Crystal Mines II (USA, Europe)</description> <cloneof></cloneof> <crc>A1973918</crc> <manufacturer>Color Dreams</manufacturer> <year>1990</year> <genre>Strategy</genre> <rating>HSRS - GA (General Audience)</rating> <enabled>Yes</enabled> </game> <game name="Ishido - The Way of Stones (USA, Europe)" index="true" image="i"> <description>Ishido - The Way of Stones (USA, Europe)</description> <cloneof></cloneof> <crc>D80E7D52</crc> <manufacturer>California Dreams</manufacturer> <year>1991</year> <genre>Puzzle</genre> <rating>HSRS - GA (General Audience)</rating> <enabled>Yes</enabled> </game> <game name="Joust (USA, Europe)" index="" image=""> <description>Joust (USA, Europe)</description> <cloneof></cloneof> <crc>F4AE42A1</crc> <manufacturer>Shadowsoft</manufacturer> <year>1992</year> <genre>Action</genre> <rating>HSRS - GA (General Audience)</rating> <enabled>Yes</enabled> </game> I can locate plenty of roms for these games but not with the specified crc numbers. has anyone else found this issue or am i just looking in the wrong place for these roms?
Honosuseri Posted October 10, 2019 Posted October 10, 2019 Hyperlist is out of date. Search the forum for an official thread for the systems to get the database xml. "There is so much more and beckons me. To look through to these, infinite possibilities..."
thatman84 Posted October 11, 2019 Posted October 11, 2019 As Hono said Hyperlist is not always the most updated list, also dont worry to much about crc, its very possible that 2 dumps of the same game have different crc's. I learnt that from db guru @tonesmalone They are great for quick checks, and when the lists were created were a know working/tested game. Pick your closest rom name and test it. thatman84 Posted October 11, 2019 Posted October 11, 2019 There’s a few tools around. Last time I just googled them. I forget which one I used. Official Hyperspin Tutorials Playlist HS Android Overview & Install HS Android Base Pack Download My Tutorials
ceason87 Posted October 11, 2019 Author Posted October 11, 2019 cheers i googled it and looked at a few but i found one that can check virtually anything on the file it checks crc's, md's, sha's etc. just incase anyone else is in need here is a link to the tool its free and is simply a drag and drop. 32assassin Posted October 11, 2019 Posted October 11, 2019 if I remember correctly their has always been a problem with Atari Lynx roms not being able to be renamed based on crcs, even when the Hyperlist XMLs where current use Fuzzy match instead But you should save yourself the trouble and download Hyperspin ready roms.
ceason87 Posted October 18, 2019 Author Posted October 18, 2019 usually the sites I use for roms are HyperSpin ready i just like to be able to check via RocketLauncherUI that im not missing any
