mankin Posted December 19, 2020 Posted December 19, 2020 Hello: I feel this is a silly question and that I just didn't tick the right box. But I've added PC Games to Rocketlauncher and Hyperspin and I'm using Killer Instinct as my test game. I am able to launch and exit the game in Rocketlauncher, but in Hyperspin I launch the game and it pushes Hyperspin into the back (making it inactive/paused) and when I exit the game Hyperspin stays in the background. I need to use the keyboard and mouse to click on it to make it active again. How do my make Hyperspin active again after I exit a PC game. I don't have this problem when I use emulators, so what am I missing? Thanks in advance.

mankin Posted December 19, 2020 Author Posted December 19, 2020 Thank you, Aorin, for the quick response. I thought your solution would do the trick as it was so simple, so I made the change in rocketlauncher (in PC Games settings) and...it didn't work. Hyperspin still remains paused is the background and I need to click on it to make it active again. But thanks for trying.
Spawk Posted December 19, 2020 Posted December 19, 2020 Is this Steam version of KI? Loading by SteamID? Steam uses URL's to launch games so RL needs to know what exe to watch for so it knows when the game closes. This is done by setting an AppWaitExe.
mankin Posted December 19, 2020 Author Posted December 19, 2020 Thanks for chiming in Spawk. I am using the Microsoft store version of KI (I got it before they released it to Steam). I am using the Windows 10 bat exe launcher. Here's how I set it up in RL:
Spawk Posted December 19, 2020 Posted December 19, 2020 Ok I have never used those myself. Judging by the name though, the premise is the same. That exe is actually just a bat file converted to exe. It runs at game launch and then is done so I don’t think RL knows that you’ve exited or more precisely, thinks you’ve exited right after launch.I would need to get my hands on one of these games to really understand what’s going on. Since this is an RL issue (PC launcher module), maybe do a search on their forum or make a post.I am at work atm but I will take a better look tonight.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Spawk Posted December 20, 2020 Posted December 20, 2020 I doubt you will have to use his exe if yours works for loading the game. I would just try the AppWaitExe name. The good news here is that although MS Store games need to be launched in a specific way, they do in fact have real exe's. You can probably just look in the games install folder and surmise which exe is the game one. If you need further identification you could try ctrl + alt + del while the game is running and bringing up "task manager". It will list every exe that is currently running.
mankin Posted December 20, 2020 Author Posted December 20, 2020 SPPPPPAAAAAAWWWWK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you!!!!!!!!!! That totally did the trick.
Metalzoic Posted January 24, 2021 Posted January 24, 2021 Late to the party but it looks like you got it figured out... which is good because I barely remember how I did it the first time. ha! Spawk! Long time no see man!
