It was basically a combination memory card and little game player, just like the Sega VMU but a few years earlier. You were able to do things like take a created character in Street Fighter Alpha 3 and train him up a bit in the PocketStation game and then when you inserted it as a memory card into your system, he would be a bit stronger. Quite a few games had support for PocketStation stuff but were stripped out or hidden from the US releases because it never came out on this side of the pond (but was expected to). With a quick little hack, you can get to the PocketStation menu in Alpha 3.
andy-andy Posted August 9, 2014 Author Posted August 9, 2014 I love the PocketStation. It was a really nifty little device. Drained batteries like a mother though. I bought one about a year after release and realized I had to stock up on those things. If I used it anywhere on a regular basis I could get maybe a week and a half tops use on one of those batteries. Chocobo World and Pocket Fighter Alpha 3 are probably the best PocketStation games that were made for it. Anyone have any other system ideas that are lacking themes and are bootable? I am starting to run out of systems that don't have themes!

dougan78 Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 No biggie I just run the xml through a tool and pick a font. So they are generic but these fit better with it imho. I put the set based on your XML that I ran through with that font in my FTP folder if you want to test them out.

Guest Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 Cheers for the nice work on this so far. It's an interesting little thing. I've made a quick bezel and uploaded it to my FTP folder. Make sure to set MESS video options to pixel aspect to get full height. The coordinates are about right, if anyone can get more exact post here and I'll update the bezel.
