craiganderson Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 i was using synctoy but it is crap with synctoy...if you change something on backup.....it does not replace it next time you sync etc check out "DSYNCHRONIZE" this program seems AWESOME so far keeps an exact copy as far as i can tell after the initial scan only takes a minute or so to do a backup 100% free easy to use on the backup file it will delete files that have been deleted on the original file on the backup file it will add files that have been added to the original file on the backup file it will replace files that have been changed in the original file (i.e. if you REPLACE one wheel image with another (with same name)) scroll down for "DSYNCHRONIZE'" http://dimio.altervista.org/eng/ (i have no financial relationship to this program) i just did a backup here is what it looks like http://craigandersonthemes.weebly.com/
craiganderson Posted August 31, 2014 Author Posted August 31, 2014 actually....just fyi....whenever i tried to install Freefilesync.....my AVG antivirus gave me a warning http://craigandersonthemes.weebly.com/
craiganderson Posted August 31, 2014 Author Posted August 31, 2014 it might be nothing but i hate adware, toolbars etc.....just fyi again...may not be anything real http://craigandersonthemes.weebly.com/
xagesz Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 Been looking for a new program ffsync was not super friendlly for me "Pinball Unknown" - 46/30/DMD - A work in Progress Kick it Harder
albert_c Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Does it sync to multiple target drives? When you find great deals on Craigslist for CRT based cabs, exuberance can be a bad thing! Current status of cabs: 0/5 working as desired :wallbash:
thrasherx Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 BitTorrent sync works pretty well if you're copying between computers, like I am.
xagesz Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 FreeFileSync is good yes. But It was just not doing it the exact way I wanted it too. It is what I am using. But i want something different. "Pinball Unknown" - 46/30/DMD - A work in Progress Kick it Harder
albert_c Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Yes Albert Cool. Because I have a very specific application that I want to use this for . Mubawahahahaha! When you find great deals on Craigslist for CRT based cabs, exuberance can be a bad thing! Current status of cabs: 0/5 working as desired :wallbash:
ParadoxSeven Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 FreeFileSync here also, it does exactly what i want it to do. There are alot of options, from doing a 2 way sync, to doing just a one way (Mirror). For backing up, i just use the Mirror mode, works perfectly Even options on how it will do the comparison, for speed you can do date/size and for those that time doesn't matter you can do a crc comparison. I recommend date/size as the normal for a backup with a crc sync every once in a while.
dragon57 Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 Another here for FreeFileSync. As long as you are careful when you install, you will not get any of the adware/3rd party crap. FreeFileSync is quite a bit more flexible than dsynchronize, however if it (dsynchronize) does what you need it to do there is no need to switch. I'm just providing info for future reference.
