andrewe1
Hello, This is my first build... Took a few months to make with the help of a friend. The point was to make something "movable" and that would not take as much space as traditional arcades, plus having everything integrated. So this is the result. Coupled with 15ft hdmi/power cables, the only thing left you need is a TV. Cheers! http://i.imgur.com/Hkla8.jpg http://i.imgur.com/Od6WN.jpg http://i.imgur.com/YtXEt.jpg http://i.imgur.com/pltOA.jpg http://i.imgur.com/Acsgl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/9xLaO.jpg http://i.imgur.com/ZsSu9.jpg http://i.imgur.com/l9OAL.jpg http://i.imgur.com/pCQLX.jpg Here it is in its "upright storing position" http://i.imgur.com/A8tqK.jpg Video, though you probably know what to expect there Any comments or feedback welcome
Rain
Very nice looking indeed! I love the fact that it is a "portable" arcade that you can just simply plug into any television & get your game on! How is everything inside? What type of HDD do you have in there, standard or did you travel the SSD route? Also, not to be too picky but do you have any pictures of this beast from the inside? This is awesome looking, I am loving it!

andrewe1
Uhh, did you look at all the pictures? theres several that show the insides completely :questionmark: I didn't embed them here cause I knew they would break the forum layout just like the person above me did No raids. Its a 1TB and 500GB western digital standard 2.5 sata drives. It's loaded up with the hyperspin project which is 1.4 TB in total soo... no other options really. SSD was out of the question. And I didn't use desktop drives because of the space, and for the fact that laptop drives generally have built in shock sensors which stop the disk in case of abrupt movement. So... its button mashing proof Cheers Oh I forgot to mention... the specs are: Core i3 3.06 ghz 4gb of ram 1.5TB of space total windows 7 64 bit iPac 2 usb I originally wanted to include a trackball but I didn't know those things were so ridiculously expensive. Its made out of MDF, covered with black formica. There's an acrylic sheet at the top.

andrewe1
hahah ya pics are a little big...So why 2 drives? does everything not fit on 1 1tb? Negative... 900GB compressed... 1.4 TB uncompressed I have to admit though. Not every system is yet configured... it's a really tiring process... right now its probably at about 70% configured. djvj
You just gave me an idea to build one with the new wireless HDMI (by intel, found in many laptops these days). Would be only a need for a power cord.

However... being a recently graduated jobless person, I cut back on some things
Rain
Nope didn't look at all the pictures, I am on the reservation right now and am restricted to dial up Internet access (remember that lol.) Just saw a few of them, and the ones that I saw did not show the insides. Now I have seen the ones that do, it looks very interesting inside though. Great build, I have been thinking about making a system like this out of an old Atari 2600 using only the 2600 system emulated, but can't bring myself to destroy that system. Kudos, I love it! andrewe1
tell us its been two years and its still working good.. how did it fair so far? Still working good and being used almost everyday! It actually sat in a corner for a long time till I decided to take it to work where It gets played with really frequently, a coworker might actually buy it from me since he wants to take it home. andrewe1
Has it been configured with all systems running now? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2 I did configure them all at some point but there were just too much systems that people didn't even know/notice/get any interest in. So I decided to just leave the "mainstream" ones... Mame, nes, snes, sega, gameboys etc. so I could use the 1TB drive for other purposes. Even as is, there are just too many games that people spend more time scrolling and looking through them than actually playing them. A typical session goes like this... "Oh I remember this one......oh this one too!.... This one is awesome!" 30 mins later- "ok let's just play street fighter 2"
