djvj Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 This will adjust your Master Volume in Windows Vista/7 to any level you wish, after a set amount of idle time. It will also fade the volume down and back up to normal, rather then an abrupt change. All of this is adjustable via the GUI when you run the app. It will create the settings.ini for you automatically on first use. Just extract to its own folder and run. - No longer have to compile, all ready for immediate use. - Does not need ahk or any other software installed. Rain Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 Great job. Does this work for versions of Windows before 7? If so that'd be sweet as well. Thanks boss. Sent from a Droid, embracing freedom!
djvj Posted July 17, 2012 Author Posted July 17, 2012 Thanks, it uses Windows Vista Audio Library that was introduced with Vista, so no. It can be converted to work with SoundGet and SoundSet (which is a lot slower), but not on my todo list as I won't ever touch XP again. Thanks for the reply, and was just curious because I have an old NES machine w/Win XP (other than that PC agree with you on the XP thing.)
Aphexdash Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 Absolute legend! Thanks heaps djvj!! Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the least...
djvj Posted July 22, 2012 Author Posted July 22, 2012 No, I don't use XP anymore as Win7 is much better at pretty much everything. And the library this uses was written for Vista+ "Computer games don't affect kids; I mean if Pac-Man affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in darkened rooms, munching magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic music."RocketLauncher's Official Home If you appreciate my work:My Apps:Window LoggerIdle Volume AdjusterExplorerRestorerRom Folder CleanerModule UpdaterMy Guides:How To Mod Guncons with Aimtrak

Cruel Moose Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 Love the program. I just have one quick question though djvj. Is it possible to load and exit this program when you bootup and exit hyperspin? I can't add another program to hyperspins startup (that I know of) because I have Hidestaskbar.exe in HyperHQ. So is there another way to startup with hyperspin (and exit?)?
brolly Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 You can create an ahk file where you launch both, compile and then use that exe as the startup program. Same thing for closing them.
djvj Posted September 21, 2012 Author Posted September 21, 2012 Updated to v1.3 Added hotkey to pause/resume the tool from user request. djvj Posted September 23, 2012 Author Posted September 23, 2012 Just so you know, I learned how to do CLI commands on already running ahk scripts. So 1.4 will include CLI support to pause/resume the tool. djvj Posted September 23, 2012 Author Posted September 23, 2012 Added CLI support. You can now send "pause" or "resume" to the tool while it is running if you don't want to use the hotkey method to handle these functions. Pausing will now always return volume to the original volume your system was at when you first ran the tool. So feel free to pause even when the system is idled and know volume will be normalized. Tooltip now shows when you are paused if you have them enabled for debugging purposes. You can now disable the pause hotkey by just deleting it from the GUI, it will no longer default back to the Pause key if missing. I included some batch files so you can see how CLI works. Just run them in the same folder the tool is in. Not sure what else I can add, so this might be the final release. ghutch92 Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 Can you add a process exclusion list? Ex: Get List of Active Processes My volume has been adjusted about 10 minutes into a movie and a music playlist. (xbmc.exe and vlc.exe) This isn't too important, but would be a nice feature to have. djvj Posted December 18, 2012 Author Posted December 18, 2012 It does master volume, not per app volume. If you find a way to do per-app volume adjusting, I'd be interested and can add support for it in. ghutch92 Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 That would be cool, but I meant that there should be a feature for it not to change volume if certain processes are running. How to Install HyperSpin and more RocketLauncher HyperSpin Startup Script
