I'd love to beta test it - been trying to rename thousands of files by hand since clrmamepro didn't work! Could you make an exception for me since I was first to respond?! :fisheye:

I'd like to beta test as well. I will be away from my machine till monday but if you still want help then I would be more than thrilled.

emb, I would be more than happy to beta test this for you and give you feedback. I'm in the process of setting up my first Hyperspin cabinet, so maybe I can give you a perspective of a more "newbie" end user.

Thanks emb, i'll be testing this evening after work and will hopefully post some feedback shortly after.

OK iv been testing it out, found a few roms that were missing that i thought i had full sets for which was good.

One nit picky thing is when I goto select a different source rom folder after a finished search it doesn't go back to the last used folder like the HyperSpin XML one does.

Will carry on testing, thanks for this, love it.

update 1, I suggest adding a rescan button? i had a few missing roms, added them, wanted to rescan just for the missing roms in 1 click.

update 2, rename and save files to output folder doesnt seem to work for me? i press the button and nothings happens, just have a full green progress bar beloew the buttom, nothing in the ouput folder.

Thanks for the valuable feedback.

I'll add "autoguessing" for when you click the browse buttons.

I'll setup the system to first scan your output folder.

Regarding the "rename and save files to output folder": You say it does not work, could you provide more details? What is your source folder? What is your destination folder? How many files were scanned? How many files were matched? Were they zip files? Did any errors come up? A screenshot is worth a thousand words ;).

could you add me on chat? Might be easier...

button doesnt work when it showed up that 8 roms were missing.

same as when i added the 8 roms, didnt do anything, output folder is empty.

they were all unzipped files like this...

I'd give it a whirl if you need anymore testers. I'm in the process of renaming a bunch of folders and was using fatmatch, but would be interested in giving this a try.

PM will be sent with next version. Should address that file saving bug.

There are known issues if there are files already in the output folder. You may encounter an exception. The next beta build will have support to read your output directory first before scanning. This will be very helpful in cases where you want to update an existing ROM folder.

the fixes work fine :)

It doesn't match many n64 and Nintendo sets though, but I think that's to do with the byte-swapping thing.

Can see it catching out quite a few noobs, like it did me.

noticed it crashes if I change the output folder after the scan and click the button to rename.

also crashes at CD sets but its not meant for them.

Hopefully I can finish up the next beta build over my lunch break. I Rewrote the scanning logic. It should be pretty rock solid now.

Most importantly, this build will include output scanning (rescanning support). It will likely address that crash for systems without CRCs (I knew that issue existed, I just never got to wrapping error handling around it).

Thanks again.
