Hi, Im trying to rename my psx roms to match artwork from hyperspin. I used the hyperlist xml and when I run dons renamer it says theres no crcs in the xml. Any idea how to get psx roms updated to their correct name?

And we can't have one either since PSX games don't consist of a single rom file and HL only supports those, in the best case you'll have at least a bin and a cue file, normally you also have a few other files for the audio tracks.

Kodiak has a script somewhere in the forum to rename cd based sets.

^ Tell me about it. I manually renamed my set one week when it was slow at work. I never want to do that again. Unfortunately, at the time, I didn't realize that cue files contain a directory to the bin file, so basically my set is currently screwed for Xebra usage, although it will work in ePSXe. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

Technically (if you don't care to have everything neat and tidy), you only have to rename the CUE. Leave the BIN files as is that way you don't have to change the contents of the cue or the BIN itself.

So...

XML entry:

My Favorite PSX Game (USA)

Filenames:

My Favorite PSX Game (USA).cue

My Favorits PSX Game (U,J,E).bin

Contents of CUE:

FILE "My Favorits PSX Game (U,J,E).bin" BINARY

TRACK 01 MODE1/2352

INDEX 01 00:00:00

TRACK 02 AUDIO

INDEX 00 15:17:36

INDEX 01 15:19:36

As far I can recall I've used Kodiak's script also...

Wasn't easy like abc though...

I don't know what took longer, the actual renaming or the drinking to forget... all I know is that both worked out perfectly eventually

So whats the cleanest way to do this? i have only 12 playstation games i want to play, so doing it manually isnt a big deal but i want to make sure i do it the right way...

I have the games all in .7z files. do i need to rename the .7z file and every file it contains to the "game name" in the XML?

For example

XML has Castlevania - Symphony of the Night (USA)

I have Castlevania - Symphony of the Night (Greatest Hits) (1997)(Konami of America)(US).7z which contains

-> Media (CD-ROM)

--> Castlevania - Symphony of the Night (Greatest Hits) (1997)(Konami of America)(US).img

--> Castlevania - Symphony of the Night (Greatest Hits) (1997)(Konami of America)(US).sub

--> Castlevania - Symphony of the Night (Greatest Hits) (1997)(Konami of America)(US).ccd

So do i need to rename the .7z file, .iso, .ccd file and .sub file only or do i also need to edit one of those files. is the media (CD-rom) folder fine or does that need to go or be renamed?
