I Start hating HyperSpin

Recommended Posts

I try to Setup my own hyperspin pc Since Last November. Bought all New components, two Xbox 360 Wireless Controller, maybach dolphinbar, 2 wiimotes, a GeForce 970,...

Then Build it together, and installed all drivers. So far everything was good...

Then Starts with HyperSpin amd hyperlaunch. Newest Edition of each. Setting everything Fine and put all grafics together i can get via hypersync and the ftp.

It Looks all good but nothing will work well

01. nestopia for nes - everytime i Starts the pc the Emu forgets controller configs

02. demul for dreamcast - Screen flickers all the time and no Second controller configurable

03. pscx2 for Sony playstation 2 - everything over the native Resolution will let the screen give ugly Vertical lines

04. epse for ps1 - emulator Hangs when Trying to Exit

05. Fusion for Genesis - Second Controller will Not configurable

06. dolphin for wii, wiiware, gamecube - Starting hyperpause Wont Show up because dolphin lays over the hyperpause Menü...

07. Problem setting the right Order for the Controller ... Windows will always have my Second Controller as the First one

And so on on my endless List on Problems i Cant Solve with Reading, googling, searching the Boards...

Does anybody have as Many Problems than i have? :vollkommenauf: Or is it just a Special Problem on my side?..

There's certainly a lot of problems, but most of them can be solved. However, the majority of that list is just general problems of emulations and emulators. As stated above, and my own personal motto, you should pretty much have every emulator you can for every system. The alternate emulator option in HyperlaunchHQ is there specifically to give you options to reach as close to perfection as possible. Test, find which ones works best for you.

04. epse for ps1 - emulator Hangs when Trying to Exit

06. dolphin for wii, wiiware, gamecube - Starting hyperpause Wont Show up because dolphin lays over the hyperpause Menü

These two ARE related to Hyperlaunch, the first is pretty common. It can be a few things. Two things to check are 1: am I using the correct version of the emulator and 2: have I tried changing the exit key in espxe or in hyperlaunch? I'm surprised you can't find anything on this. I've personally seen dozens of threads on the topic.

As per number 6 on the list, you should hit up the forums on hyperlaunch.net. They have an entire section on Hyperpause.

Are you using the right emulator versions to those emus? Look into the hyperlaunch module for each emulator which version it supports.

From one version to the next, emulators can change config values or command line arguments, that might explain why some things don't work as expected.

I do...

I think, the most annoying Problem is to handle 2 wireless xbox360 controller right. There are a lot problems with them - i.e. one is not off and you want to play with the other one... the emus cannot handle that right - windows can't handle it right :-(

I understand you. RetroArch handle xbox gamepads very good. Give it a try

Hi ChrisKant.

At first glance, your thread title seems a little exaggerated, probably a bad interpretation from Google Translator, if it's not, you shouldn't hate HS itself being that most of your problems seems emulators related.

I read some suggestions and I agree with using retroarch for, virtually anything you can, once you configure your controls there, you won't need to do it again, at least for me it was this way.

06. dolphin for wii, wiiware, gamecube - Starting hyperpause Wont Show up because dolphin lays over the hyperpause Menu.

This seems the only problem you are having directly related to Hyperspin, but it does not seem to be a huge problem, as the game is running as well as the emulator.

Hyperpause has threads exclusively for this kind of problems, and you can find help for it there.

Hope you sort this problems.

Yes. It is a special problem on your side. If you wish to have a great setup, then you need to take the time to study every aspect of hyperspin. If you don't have a firm understanding of the ENTIRE frontend and everything that goes into it, then expect to have a hard time.

Sorry if that seems mean, but it's the truth. Even though Hyperspin is in desperate need of some serious updates... It's still ahead of its time... BY FAR.

For your controllers you may wanna look into xpadder. It is amazing. All emulators use the keyboard by default. For example: Nestopia may reset "controller" mappings, but it will NEVER reset a keyboard mapping. Look into xpadder and that will solve your controller issues.

Trust me. I have a BEAUTIFUL setup that works wonderfully. But it took time and due diligence. Don't complain, because Hyperspin is truthfully THAT awesome. And it's run by some seriously awesome people.

Just sayin'....

Thanks for all the helping words... Sure, the Problem depends on the emulatores and hyperlaunch / rocketlauncher. HyperSpin itself doesnt allow many things to configure...

The Controller problem wouldnt solve with xpadder... It's nearly impossible for me to configure two Wireless Xbox 360 Controllers Right. Sometime the switching the IDs After a restart... The Problem in this case might be Windows 8.1 itself.

XPadder gets crazy if the system Starts with just one Controller activated. Also Looks like its Not allowed to use the Second Controller as the First one if the batteries getting Low...

There are so many variables with this hobby we all run into trouble, even the guy who just wants to run Mame.

Tackle each problem one at a time, don't get bogged down.

If an emulator give you trouble, try a different one if available or search for your problem, most issues have been encounter before.

With regard to the 360 controllers, make sure the drivers are installed if they exist for 8.1.

set the controller priorities in the control panel and set the preferences control in HLHQ.

I found this post by kmoney interesting regarding controller priority, not sure it's rrelavent.

And make the effort to get RetroArch going and follow "aletterfromthelostdays " fantastic guide.

Hi GigaPig,

thanks for your advice. I also have a mayflash dolphin bar but this works perfect. Also my two wireless Controller works great, with one problem - they switch the IDs without any logic to me. sometimes the pad no1 is pad no 2 - even if the xbox lights on the controller says totally different. it's totally strange. Maybe this is the biggest Problem of all. even in the Windows Config for GameController I had no chance to switch anything to specific for the controller because the have the same Name "Controller (Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows). I also installed the Driver new...

I guess that with wired controllers there is not that kind of problems...

edit: I did not have any of theses Problems in the beginning with just one controller - but right after I bought the second one and try to config them to all I start loosing my nerves. Both Controller are tested on a xbox360 and work perfectly so this cannot be the problem.

I understand now, that there must be the Problem with my two wireless x360 Controllers together with the mayflash dolphin bar. This conflict is worser than I excepted.

If anyone have a hint for me to take controll of my controllers - please help me. Just switching the joyID# doesn't help really :-(
