Roadrunner
Since I'm ah... revamping my setup, I figured I'd look into this before putting my PC back in my cabinet. Currently I'm running Future Pinball in my setup. It works fine but I'm annoyed by the fact that you can't see the scores on some tables and there are fixed control keys (TAB for example to scroll up to the back part.) Is there anything out there that's better?
32assassin
the best pinball program is a matter of personal preference. their are only four systems to choose from. Future Pinball Visual Pinball Pinball FX2 Pinball Arcade In my Opinion Visiual Pinball is the best, unlike Future Pinball it runs the roms that operated the machine. the DMD animation on Future Pinball is composed of multiple generic static images. Visual Pinball runs the actual roms that display the original animation. Future Pinball: I only have tables not found in Visual Pinball Pinball FX2: Original tables that are not found in any other system Pinball Arcade: recreated retail tables found in Visual Pinball and Future Pinball. I personally don't like them and will never add it my system. When I play this system I feel like I'm playing Arcade games similar to this the games are the same but they just don't feel like the real thing to me. I know its a contradicting statement, considering its all emulation or in this case simulation.
Dubbloseven
Id have to say, I agree with 32assassin. though it is a matter of preference like he said. Not really a fan of the pinball arcade either and tried a bunch of their tables. I like visual pinball the best to play some of their nicely designed tables. stovies
32assassin I'm struggling to find a Widescreen (16:9) Visual Pinball table which is essentially "awesome" and really shows of the platform. Any suggestions? Stovies
SIMPLYAUSTIN
If your using just the one screen. Pinball FX2 is by far the most addictive for me. Great visuals, ideas and gameplay. Not as many games but more quality than quantity

I don't want to be fiddling with a mouse or keyboard to make it work inside my cabinet.
marxkemp
Works fine with a 360 controller. So a cab will do(?) Fx2 is more a pinball game then a pinball sim
stovies
Just found Nova table for Visual Pinball - that's the standard I was looking for. Anyone else got suggestions?

Just looking at this, looks like its designed for windows 8. I don't see a windows 7 version so I guess I'm out of luck on that one.

Roadrunner
Works fine on windows 7 So I just download the Windows 8 version? I don't see a Win7 version anywhere. How easy is this to set up? Is the key mapping easy? Does it go into Hyperspin easy? I've been trying to get Visual Pinball going and its no barrel of laughs. If this thing is simple to use, I may just go with it. This is a commercial product right? I'm reading something about STEAM? What is STEAM and do I need this to run this program? Does that come with the program or do I download it separately? Do tables come with this or do I download them separately?
marxkemp
Yes, yes, yes its a pc game, yes it has a module, yes its as simple as a pc game, yes you can read, steam is a distribution platform, yes its a program, yes the tables are bought separately.. Roadrunner
Okay, If I'm going to use this I have a couple of questions. 1. If I've got to download Steam for this, where does the Steam Folder go? Do I put it under my regular program folders or is it in the same folder in the emus with PinballFX2? 2. I'm using an older version of Hyperlaunch because I don't want to have to update all my emus. Does anyone have an older module that will allow me to run this? Because I don't want to go through the pain of updating all of my emus just to get a new version of HL. 3. If not, can I use one version of HL solely for this emu? If so, how would I do that? Roadrunner
Tried running this without HL today as an executable. Unfortunately running into problems. I point the exe towards Pinball FX2 but it says I need a Steam client running. There's a shortcut on my desktop to get FX2 to run (I guess it automatically starts a steam client) but I can't use it as an exe. in HyperHQ. Any way to just get this into a wheel without using HL? Roadrunner
The Pinball Arcade? Pinball FX2. I've got the Steam version running on Windows 7. I'm trying to get it to run in HS without Hyperlaunch. Any way to do this?
32assassin
only other way to launch FX2 is with nukelauncher http://www.nukelauncher.com/ it was made for pinballx http://www.gameex.info/forums/topic/15201-app-nukelauncher-nukefx-for-pinball-fx2/ as of right now you can't use it with HL2 or RL
SIMPLYAUSTIN
Another way to launch it is through the exe file found in your steam files. I cant remember properly but its something like.... **STEAM ROOT FOLDER**/STEAM APPS/COMMON/PINBALLFX2/PINBALLFX2.exe Now, doing it this way of course will let you open the program, but it will load it as a complete game, not per table like you could if you had it thorugh HyperLaunch/Rlauncher. But at least you have it working and the GUI is kinda cool anyways

If I try to do it that way I get an error inside of Pinball FX2 saying that I need a steam client running. only other way to launch FX2 is with nukelauncherhttp://www.nukelauncher.com/ it was made for pinballx http://www.gameex.info/forums/topic/15201-app-nukelauncher-nukefx-for-pinball-fx2/ as of right now you can't use it with HL2 or RL Okay, I tried nukelauncher. Seems to work in Hyperspin (thanks) but I've got some issues here. 1st issue: It runs but it automatically selects "achievements" instead of single player. This is annoying because there achievements are locked and I can't get out of this screen without the use of a mouse. 2nd issue: This is more of a "how do I do this" than an actual issue but I'll post it here. How do you choose which table it is going to play? I've bought one table (Civil War) and it came with another (Sorcerer's Lair.) Right now it's automatically selecting Civil War. How do I get it to select Sorcerer's Lair if that's how I want to play it. Am I supposed to pick tables through HyperHQ? I don't have the option of adding subset wheels through HyperHQ now so I'm not sure how I'd do that. Here's the screenshot of HyperHQ and how I've set it up:
Dime333
Sorry if I have totally missed what this thread is about, but I have Pinball FX running without Any steem files. I have never used steem at all. There is a non steem version of Pinball FX2. Sorry if this is irrelevant.
32assassin
like I said as of right now Nukelauncher is not working with Hyperspin; with Steam or with the PC version of Pinball FX2 this is the most development I seen so far, and its still not done http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/showthread.php?39966-Pinball-FX2-with-nukelauncher-help I have it working with PinballX, I do not use it in Hyperspin and will not use it even if it their is a RL module developed. given how well DJVJs RL module works. Okay, maybe I'm misunderstanding you... Are you saying it doesn't work with Hyperlaunch? Personally, I don't really care about that. I'd be happy if it just launched into Pinball FX2 and let me select from there. Is there any way to do it that way? Edit: I've posted these same questions on the Hyper Nuke site. I'll let you know if I get a reply there. In any event thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Apart from a minor bug and choosing the tables, this works very well.
