dcraun
I am getting started building a cabinet for a good friend of mine that lives across town. we were wondering if there was a way we could sync highscores maybe by emailing a file to one another when a new score is achieved? the thing I'm worried about though is that when he emails me a file with a new score for say centipede it will erase recent scores on other games I have not synced with him. Is anyone doing something similar to this is there an easy way?
Fursphere
I used dropbox and symlinks. Worked pretty good.
Mark Norville
I probably will be wrong on this, but I will give you my view. I just opened 1941.hi with a text editor, and the characters are useless. I thought that it would write data like this 1. Your high score 2000 2. His high score 1900 It would be a lot of hassle keep swapping the files are your new scores will not have saved, and as there is no way of editing the file, you cannot adjust the scores to suit. You could of course put your hi scores onto his machine to start with, so that he has something to beat, and then after say a month, you create a back up of your hi scores, and then copy his scores, where you have a month to beat them, and so on. Sadly I do not think that there is an easier option, which is where I might be wrong. Regards Mark

I use this method (with google sync) for savestates across different computers and also android and it works great for that. I think I just literally set the shared folder as the save game folder. The only thing is to ensure the devices have a chance to connect and sync up.
adamg
I am sure there is some kind of command line that I could edit into the module to force an update each time.

What if you're both playing the same game at the same time?
