I'm putting together my MAME cabinet and I came across this site after seeing the same problems as described with the MP4 videos not playing. I'm running my cabinet off SSDs so I don't really have the luxury of converting everything back to FLV for space restrictions. I have a 3570K but have the video disabled in the bios since I am also running an ArcadeVGA. My understanding was that the 4000 HD was the problem but the problem still exists for me even with the onboard video disabled. I thought that by having the ArcadeVGA that everything would just work fine but it doesn't appear to be so. Even though it isn't there, does just having the chipset cause this problem?

I think that your issue has been resolved - im guessing that you are running windows 7 right?

I can't find the thread with what you need to do but it should be on ultimarc's website.

Yes, I am running Windows 7 64-Bit Ultimate. The problem that I am having appears to be the same as everyone else with an Intel HD 4000 chipset. I am able to play the stock 88 Games.mp4 file that comes with Hyperspin in both WMP and VLC however when it runs in Hyperspin, all I get is a green screen where the video should be playing. I get sound and then Windows basically crashes Hyperspin. I was under the impression that since I am using the ArcadeVGA 5000 from Ultimarc and the drivers from that, it should work just fine. I set the BIOS to use the PCIE card slot and thus assumed that Windows would always use the ArcardeVGA. I don't see any HD 4000 in my Device Manager. I even tried taking the MP4 and re-encoding it with Handbrake in the event there was something with the way the file was encoded. That still didn't solve the problem. So based on what I can tell, the HD 4000 is still somehow getting in the way even though I cannot understand why. I don't see any way to uninstall it since device manager doesn't even seem to show it. Is it a problem just having the Intel CPUs regardless of whether the integrated video is being used or not?

I will need to check on mine later tonight as I have just bought a new GPU.

Found the thread I was talking about so try this - http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/showthread.php?31287-HyperSpin-videos-not-working-Arcadevga-5000-Windows-7-64-bit/page2

I have the same issue with another chipset.

Intel Pentium G3420 with Intel HD Graphics (not HD4000)

mp4 videos do not work in Hyperspin. The videos appear correctly in other programs.

We have assembled with our saved a new thin mini ITX HTPC.

full of anticipation .. and then..

:stupido2:

Intel i7 4770S with Intel HD4600 integrated.

In VLC and Media Player they run. Not, only in Hyperspin.

The same with the LAV Codec package installed.

Atari 2600 = 80 MByte (MP4)

Atari 2600 = 200 MByte (FLV)

Nearly the factor 2.5 !!!

It can not yet be.. sniff

Which video decoder Hyperlaunch used? externally or internally? would there a newer verion to enclose? Mp4 is indeed only made possible by Hyperlaunch. So I'm assuming that Hyperspin itself here does not "interfere". Right?

zerojay, thanks for the note.

But how pavlovtiger in the seventeenth post writes: he uses an Nvidia GTX 675m video card..

Well that he has this little detail came in meaningful :D

I am now convert all mp4 to flv, what a waste of space. :vollkommenauf:

Now, I can continue to do even HyperSync, I can not delete the MP4. Otherwise all videos are downloaded fresh again. Someone knows a simple solution on how I can create a dummy file with the same name of the MP4 files? These are only a few bytes in size. So that I can delete the original MP4 files and HyperSync not notice.. Maybe with a batch script?

@ice700

I'm not using this beta, because Intel wrote: Only Update for Adobe Applications..

I'm running the newest official Driver Version: 10.18.10.3496 and the IGPU-Bios: 2170.0

I Think HypeSync will know they are dummy files and replace them.

I hope not! Or are there other approaches?

One solution is to disable "Intel HD Graphics 4600" in device manager [Control Panel->Hardware and Sound->Device Manger->Display Adapters...right click and select disable].

Maybe not an optimal solution, but in my case good enough. I have dedicated "Arcade VGA 3000" card, but the fan is to loud... so I have only the card installed when playing. Most of the time I'am working with building up the setup... and sometimes I only want to look on all the good stuff I manage to collect so far without installing the card :)

Maybe is possible to write a script to disable the "display adapter" in Hyperspin meny and then activate the "adapter" when starting an emulator?

The script would be possible if you figure out some easy way to do this disable/enable command. Something like using a command line utility, shortcut or whatever.

Then you would only need to add the enable command to the StartGlobalUserFeatures() and the disable to the StopGlobalUserFeatures() function.

This is too much specific for me trying to help more on the subject, but good luck on trying that.

Just discovered an even better solution:

Disable hardware acceleration:

- Open web browser

- Go to youtube

- Click on any video

- When the video plays, quick as you can right-click anywhere in the video, select Settings

- Uncheck "Enable hardware acceleration"

Worked good for me and Hyperspin now plays mp4 :)

Hi Yaksman,

thank you very much to put your solution here.

Maybe you can give me a hint, where I can find the settings in a youtube vid?

With right-click I'm only able to get some HTML5 stuff..

EDIT: I found it by deactivating ad-blocker.

btw, I doesn't have any effects here. same with WMP (dxva uncheck).

thanks

Here's a video I found that explains "How to Disable Hardware acceleration of Flash Player to avoid Video Buffering"

I use Mozilla Firefox as web browser and I never changed anything in windows media player (or in wmp classic from K-lite that I'am currently using as a default player)

Installed programs on my computer (that may have an influence?)...

Adobe Flash Player 13 Plugin

Adobe Flash Player 13 ActiveX

Mozilla Firefox 26.0 (x86 sv-SE)

K-Lite Codec Pack 9.9.5 (standard)

Intel Graphics Driver 10.18.10.3574

(Ultimarc ArcadeVGA 3000 drivers)

Windows 7 64 bit Ultimate

Hardware:

Gigabyte Z87N-WIFI

Intel Core i5-4670K [email protected] (Intel HD Graphics 4600)

(No graphic card installed)

Does this work with the intel HD graphics alone? i don't have the Ultimarc ArcadeVGA 3000..

i will try asap. Thanks
