Gilrock Posted June 21, 2018 Posted June 21, 2018 Does anyone have RocketLauncher pointing to the EDS executable renamed to LEDBlinky.exe? I know how to run it from HyperSpin but I'd like to move it over so that RocketLauncher sends the commands to EDS so that I can use HyperMarquee for multiple front-ends.
d8thstar Posted June 21, 2018 Posted June 21, 2018 i believe i have it set that way. the issue is that HM won’t display anything until the first game is selected. once you do that, it works as expected. by having it in HS, marquee (thru EDS) starts when HS starts
Gilrock Posted June 21, 2018 Posted June 21, 2018 I don't mind the marquee only showing up when I actually select a game. I pointed RL to the EDS\LEDBlinky.exe and enabled it to true in RL settings and it doesn't appear to send anything when I launch a game. For now I'm manually calling EDS using a User Functions in RL so I have it working but it won't help once I actually want EDS to forward to the real LEDBlinky.

There is no "LEDBlinky" folder under the RocketLauncher\Profiles directory so I'm not sure what's supposed to be there or if that matters. ledblinkyEnabled := "true" ledblinkySystemName := "MAME" ledblinkyFullPath := "M:\EDS\LEDBlinky.exe" ledblinkyProfilePath := "M:\RocketLauncher\Profiles\LEDBlinky" ledblinkyRLProfile := "M:\RocketLauncher\Profiles\LEDBlinky\RocketLauncher" I also found this page: RocketLauncher_Daemon Are you using that Daemon? When I look in the RocketLauncher\Daemon folder there is file named "RocketLauncherDaemon (Example).ini". I assume I would need to rename that file to "RocketLauncher.ini" to make it active. There doesn't appear to be any area in RLUI to change settings for that daemon utility. That Wiki page also claims RocketLauncher is on GIT. I'd love to browse the source but I searched GitHub and I don't see it there. The RL forum seems fairly dead so not getting much help.
ninja2bceen Posted June 22, 2018 Posted June 22, 2018 I don’t think RocketLauncher is open source but maybe? The RocketLauncher team won’t know how to fix this issue as it’s completely 3rd party. HM supports high scores, multiple artwork and marquees. Eds supports launching any of these at any time. You need a front end to support led blinky to fire eds which Eds then tell hm what to launch. It’s wierd that you have rl trying to fire eds, usually the front end calls for it so it’ll be hard to find help even here for it. This thread describes pretty well how to launch it in hyperspin. The problem I think you are having is you are using a front end that doesn’t support led blinky and you are trying to force RocketLauncher to act as an led blinky path. It is people that tries to help each other the best they can. Don't forget that your challenge is beyond HM and EDS, so that is why, I guess, people says it is not the best place. For me, I never used 3DArcade, and do not know much about RL. But when you call EDS from RL, you should be able to consult EDS log file. Some messages there may help you. The real question you should ask yourself is: What are the parameters passed to EDS from RL? EDS expects to be called the same way it is called by HS. HyperMarquee & Event Dispatch System

RocketLauncher_Daemon eds require you to set true in the parameter to in the global setting tab once save correctly it will build a log, you might have your eds root folder lock down that will prevent it from being produce if your system allows folder/file structure have the permissions to create a file in the directory.

If it works, then you know that it's the params from RL, otherwise, it's somewhere else, not RL. Sevenseal gave me a tip that seems to have RL sending events now. I had ledblinkyEnabled set to "true" but he suggested I use "All". In the directory "M:\RocketLauncher\Lib\User Functions\Emulators" just copy the example file EmulatorName.ahk and change to MAME.ahk and then populate the following 2 functions as follows and it will work. agent327 Posted October 17, 2018 Posted October 17, 2018 Hi all, Help needed here! Hypermarquee with EDS is so much fun but I experience a problem when a movie (.mp4) kicks in. It plays very nice but stops at the end. I'm using the suggested VLC version. When I play the clip directly within VLC everthing works out (it automatically loops, when the loopcycle button is activated). I tried to find the answer on the forum. No luck yet. Running W10, GTX660ti, 8gb memory. I also tried different event (stop) numbers, but still every movieclip stops and the end and does not reloop. Please help! Thanks in advance.

DarrenBailey Posted October 21, 2018 Posted October 21, 2018 Hello all, I am just finishing up my cabinet build and had HyperMaquee working perfectly for me until I set up my LEDBlinky. Now I have LEDBlinky working well with Hyperspin, but my HyperMaquee is now only displaying a marquee image for EVERY SECOND game/console selection as I scroll through. Scroll to a game, it displays, scroll to the next game, it goes blank, repeat. In a lovely plot twist, when Hyperspin goes into attract mode and auto selects randomly, the marquee image displays every time. Only when I am manually scrolling through does it have the on-off-on-off problem. All of my issues up to now I have been able to handle myself through finding similar issues in the forums from the rest of you wonderful contributors. This time I just can’t find anything that might explain it I have been fiddling with the settings unsuccessfully for weeks! Help is much appreciated!

I have a older version of E.D.S running with the latest Hypermarquee. Hopefully this will work out for you as well. Still struggeling with relooping my mp4's....help is still needed! Thanks Antos for a great piece of software!! Thanks. I did not add a function to loop a video within HM (sorry). Unless someone found a claver way to do it, this is not supported. I am not developing on HM anymore, but the good news is that I am working on a completely new software, which will include video looping and will replace HM and many more. Thought, it will not be released anytime soon. HyperMarquee & Event Dispatch System
