HyperMarquee & EDS Speech Tutorial Guide

06/05/2016 - Antos had done the work to replace HyperSpeech with HyperMarquee/EDS

Proof of Concept

Add Main Menu.ini to Rocketlauncher\Data\Game Info\

This was the data that was adapted over from HyperSpeech to HyperMarquee

this file here is the System's Bios that is used on the Main Menu when highlight over each system

if you have more updated system bios for current system, please feel free to share with me so that i can update it. or you can update yourself if you edit the ini file

This folder contains all the messages for each event that occurs in Hyperspin, so it will speech just like Hyperspeech.

his program needs the events trigger thats are similiar to ledblinkys, which doesnt produce those cli

depends on what language code the program is made of, it would be very easy to impliment or very hard depending on which... things are limited base on what language...

upon opening edshyperintegrator I got a message saying if I inappropriately use the exe then it could crash my os. How could I use it inappropriately?

boy that was an adventure. I don't have any of this tested but just finished installing eds, hypermarquee and getting through all the steps in the pictures. I hope its correct

Question for you is for hyperspeech to work, do I really have to do these 11 steps for every system

I just did the steps for mame all the way through. Also within EDS, which specific applications am I adding? The first few screenshots are confusing with the hypespeech rows. Can you check my inis out to ensure I have things set up before I activate this thing in hyperhq?

also I see eds_launchmodule (rename me).config. What do I rename it to?

this setup does it for all system, not for just one only. the wildcards are used for multiple files and multi-areas... wildcard are the words with []

only follow the bubbles tell you to do... you wont be using hyperspeech at all, hypermarquee will cover everything.... for both application you are adding will be for hypermarquee only nothing else for this setup... everything has been adapted over to work just the same once like hyperspeech once did.... IT IS A REPLACEMENT. make sure to download the additional file that are on top of post #418.... those are database to make it work and you will be pointing to those files in this setup

that just explain thing for this is beta software, certain method if wrong, it may crash your os if not setup correct. its just a disclaimer. i havent had it happen to me nor any users i supportted already..

your eds config should point to hypermarquee and not hyperspeechproxy....

close filter should nothing...

open filter should be 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10

just as pointed by the bubble in the screenshot

only follow the direction of the bubbles...

if a bubble point to it, copy it, but if doesnt just ignore it, ONLY FOLLOW THE BUBBLES.

your setting should look like the first screen shot right after the setup eds with hyperspin on post 418, it is label as eds setting for bios and speech events at the very top

only thing that might not look similair are parameter and pid because your label is mame-speech

there shouldnt be anything like that hypermarquee, in eds yes....

eds and hypermarquee are two seperate program and should be in seperate folder as well... do not merge them together

the hard time is actually understanding what does what, thats nothing you are going to learn overnight. it hard to start something blindly when you dont have a clue why or how to begin... that why we have guides/tutorials/forums/mentors/support. most important part is communication and the ability take your time to understand the directions that been given to you, if you dont understand something.... best to help you most is to ask for help from some outter source.

thats why i try to help as much as i do. the unknown is a strange and quite struggling experience to have.

but the point is to try and learn from our mistakes that you had made then become something better from that experiences.

the reason why i wont make a premade because.. you wont understand what you have and take it for granted....

shortcuts dont make you gain, shortcuts just make you lose out on your how you got to your goal.

eds and hypermarquee gives large amount of features, it is no good if you dont give it purpose to you personally.

you cant used something to it potential if you dont understand how to...

Alright... Really I just want to use this for hyperspeech. I see the main menu Ini is where I would go to get system bios and add more to it which is fine I have no problem doing that. I'm just trying to get a working vehicle so I can add to the bios. I may be slow here and the alert that my iOS will crash if I do something wrong and don't know what that is seems risky to me. I'm trying to understand how this thing can take down my computer and want to be sure I don't do that. Since this risk is there I'm hoping for a working set up is available for hyperspeech only. I have no use for the other features but I know what you are saying in general but I'll be the first to say this is terribly complex for hyperspeech in general and it leaves a lot of user error with all the steps

Mind you I'm very appreciative for you creating the feature that is missed by so many. I'll look again tonight but I've already sank 2 hours trying to get this to work[emoji33]

EDS and HyperMarquee are not compatible for iOS sorry, they are Microsoft Windows compatible products only. (Not tested on Wine thought)

 

But, if you are afraid to crash your OS using EDS, simply check CBR checkbox when using CLI mode. Also, you will not crash your OS if you are testing everything under the EDS front end first (recommended path). The only way you can crash your OS, is if EDS launches hundreds and hundreds of the same CLI exes after some many automated calls from HyperSpin. But this will NOT happen if you check CBR in conjunctions with CLI. This will also not occur under Pipes.

 

For the guide, don't be afraid, it is easy as 1, 2, 3! No AHK coding required only few configuration steps to follow.

 

Otherwise, HyperSpeech is still an option.

Let us know if you try EDs and Hypermarquee,
