Also, remember to grab my matching ini file from the FTP, should make all the games plug-n-play, since the ini was built using the GameBase64 parameters.

Anyone have that? I can't log on to the FTP any more it seems.

Oh, and Tur-Matcher is no good for this set. It does not do too well with (Disk 1 Side A etc since it strips everything in ()

I think I may be confused here...

I was always talking about the xml's found here: http://hyperlist.hyperspin-fe.com/

Until April 28th, the old C64 xml had 527 games on it, the new one since has 8236.

As far as I know (I could be wrong), it was never deleted from there, only updated.

Not sure if we are all referring to the same place.?

I think we are going off the downloads section now and the site you are going to is old. Downloads/hyperbase/databases is all the most current stuff. Good luck.

Yeah it's here now and slightly different to what was on Hyperlist.

Can someone confirm a few things. What Gamebase set was used to create the xml? Also how do you find out the CRC? If I open a zip I can see each file has a CRC I assume it will be the game files CRC that is used.

Thanks.

Thanks Dougan and Gigapig.

I see that the list linked above by Gigapig is the same "new" list on the "old" HyperList page, in fact I am sure of it. So for me, if that page is kept up to date (and it seems to be judging by the recent uploads), it is more convenient, as all the list can be found at 1 spot. Much less searching in my book.

Gigapig,

This xml is based on Gamebase64 v13, linked earlier, page 1 post 5, by Turranius: http://www.gamebase64.com/index.php.

Just extract all the games to a folder (.d64, .t64, .tape, etc...) and then run Don's Rom Renamer against that folder using the xml, which already has all the CRC's. The app will match most roms there by CRC, but will not resolve only around 300 of them. At this point, I'm pretty happy with this. I found that leaving the games into their .zip files will crash the Rom Renamer app. Extracting all before matching is the key for me I found.

Once all is matched up and copied to a new folder, you can .7z them using a batch file (I found this batch file here on the forums somewhere).

Hope this helps!

Thanks Raz, i thought the file size of the 2 xmls was slightly different but that may have been my error.

I have the majority already renamed without extracting but thanks for the tip. I'm trying to understand why there are over 300 missing hence my "wwhich version" question. This xml has been worked on for a very long time no doubt so maybe there have been Rom changes I don't know. Someone is bound to want everything to show up as green, thats why I ask.

To get those corrected i think it's  quite a big job as the gamebase file names are a bit "different. I'd probably have try each game to check its the correct one then change the crc and rename.

I was under the impression these games had to be uncompressed. I uncompressed gb64 v13 and then used Dons tools via crc which was very fast to rename and move them. However I found that Dons tools would crash if I tried to do too many so did them letter by letter.

I also ran Dons tools and then matched the rest with Tur-Matcher and some manually. I managed to get to 8224/8236.

I put the package on my FTP.

Here are my notes during the manual work

Cowboy Duel - Live Your Dream! (Europe) (Disk 1) (Unl).D64 = There is no Disk2

Marlo Files, The = replaced with The Marlo Files - Remastered Edition

Runners - Greenrunner, Redrunner, Retroskoi+ (Europe) (Unl) = Only find seperate games? http://www.rgcd.co.uk/2012/07/greenrunnerredrunnerretroskoi-c64-2012.html

Shoot 'Em up Destriction Set (Europe) = Actually 2 files. Added as Shoot 'Em up Destriction Set (Europe) (Disk 1 Side A), Shoot 'Em up Destriction Set (Europe) (Disk 1 Side B). Error in XML?

Single Extreme Freedom (Hungary) (Unl) (Disk 1 Side A) = XML specifies 4 files. I only find 2 disk English version. Added as Single Extreme Freedom (USA) (Disk 1 Side A), Single Extreme Freedom (USA) (Disk 1 Side B). Error in XML?

Trivial Pursuit - Commodore Genius Edition = ?
Trivial Pursuit - Young Players Edition = ?

Ultimate Cops = ?? Does not exist unless you pay for it.

I'd love someone to finish it. As for screenshots as movies etc, I'll work on it.

I don't think there is a link to Hyperlist on this site, but Hyperlist is apparently still being updated. For example, I think that's the only place to get genre XMLs for C64. Right?

The crc's of the missing ones from the database dont seeem match the ones from gamebase.

Turranius Fantastic work man!!!!  wish I saw your post earlier!!!!   I'll try to go through what you've accomplished so far.  All i have so far is that Helistad seems to be Wild Rides and Runners can be run from the crt version. ill check the rest after work.

Trivial pursuit genus edition is in gb64. It is a 2 disc compilation of trivial games. Search on lemon64.com for genus then follow link to gb64. Use only the genus disc.
