can someone point in the right direction for the retroarch setup.. I have hyperspin setup but not retro

If you have a Shield device, Retroarch setup is really easy.  Basically you need to go into the online updater and download all the cores.   The controller settings are detected and work by default.   Assuming you have retroarch cores assigned in your hyperspin .ini files, it 'should just work'.

I guess that's the point I'm at .. I have hyperspin working and retro installed... I have to setup the ini's to the retro settings.. On The shield TV is that the best emu to use is the retroarch is does something else work better

Retroarch is a great emulator but it's evolving fast so some cores are broken and some bugs exist.   A bug that confounds many of us is the problem of two distinct retroarch.cfg files.   It has one when you launch from within RA and a separate file when you launch from Hyperspin, Arc Browser, Gamesome, etc.    SO, in order to set the bios folders and other .cfg options, you must successfully launch RA at least ONCE (using a system that isn't dependent on bios files),  THEN make your config changes.

At the moment, 3d emulators like PPSSPP and N64 launch from RA but fail when launched from a front-end.  It's a new bug/regression I hope they fix soon.

Read the sticky post regarding emulator setup -- lots of other emulator options.   The 2600.emu, nes.emu, etc. emulators are well-regarded.

  • 2 weeks later...

Hello!, i am getting problems setting up this thing, i have downloaded and installed Hyperspin and retroarch in my shield pro, created the folder hyperspin and downloaded everything into it,edited the .ini and moved the Hyperspin folder to the root of the shield.

In the ini (super nintendo) i have like this, /sdcard/hyperspin/Emulators/Super Nintendo Entertainment System/roms/ , that´s the path it´s supposed where hyperspin must search for the roms, isn´t it?.

So hyperspin launch ok, but it says no rom....

Can anyone help me please?

I suck,i downloaded the XML file from here, replaced the original One, put muy roms un the roms folder, and then usted the dons to rename them to match the XML file un database.

Then i open the hyperspin con shield tv and again it says the ROM doesn't existe, could anyone upload a step by step con images,i dont know where am i failing.

I have tried romd un zip and 7z

When you unzipped them did you put the file extension to the ROMs in your setting .ini??? Example SNES (romextension=zip, smc)

Just concentrate on one rom, and make sure it works by loading it outside of Hyperspin also :)

i have no luck, and i am doing this tut step by step, and my roms are renamed exactly as the xml file says with don´s tool, so i don´t know what the fuck is the problem,i copy the Hyperspin to my shield root folder, and i have tried several times editing the roms path, but it doesn´t worl either, always says trying to launch missing rom.

could it be the emulator (retroarch) path the problem?, i copied the android_settings exactly as the tut says:
