drlynes Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 Has anyone seen a way to display the controller layout art onscreen during a MAME game? So the player could see the button layout/mapping for that particular game. Or, have the controller art popup first once selecting the game, then proceeding past that screen to the game with the click of a button. It seems like that would be a great idea if there were appropriate screen real estate. Thanks.
HazzardActual Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 Oh is that not around anymore? I thought it was, Ive seen screenshots of people pause menus with the layouts on it.
SkyHighGam3r Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 I just barely learned about HyperPause myself, so that's an intriguing option.I have seen some people use the fade-in screen to show what each emulator's controls are just before the game loads. I don't know if you can make that game specific though.
Styphelus Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 If you use bezels, you can incorporate that there. That's what I do for mine.
potts43 Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 I use instruction card options. Images are pngs similar to above video.
damageinc86 Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 now that would be a nice tutorial to have. how to set up instruction cards.
potts43 Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 now that would be a nice tutorial to have. how to set up instruction cards. I did one ages ago....I am away for a few weeks but I'll see what I can do.
namdor Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 HazzardActual I use hyperpause all the time. It is underused or at least no one talks about using it, in my opinion.
Tomkun Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 I could never get hyperpause to work with a controller, which is why I never use it.
damageinc86 Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Keymapper would probably do the trick. We have the little wireless keyboard out on the couch all the time anyways though, so just hit that key and hyperpause magic!
Tomkun Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 I hate using keymappers though and avoid them wherever possible. I also have a wireless keyboard, but would prefer to not have to use it. However it looks like there may be an alternative in Rocket Launcher soon. On a side note, where are people getting their controller artwork from? I found a bunch of instruction cards for MAME on the EmuMovies FTP, but haven't found any for other systems. Is everybody making their own?
marxkemp Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 No keymapper needed for hyperpause or IC. It's all in RLUI. Wiki is very helpfull at rlauncher website. Controller artwork is been shared before.

Yeah fade screens, it's game or system specific, same as bezels and hyperpause... Depends on what feel your after

Also, would you be so kind as to point me in the direction of those controller artworks you mentioned have been shared before?
Emu54 Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Got the Controller artwork for pause but never seen anyway to run a controller over then xpadder so on
