Cobrasting
has anyone been able to run down the problem with Mupen64plus. Retroarch crashes when launching N64 games through hyperspin? They work fine in Retroarch manually loading them.
guyverjay
mine is working fine
Cobrasting
are you using the newest retroarch? What core version do you have?
NewYears1978
In chat people said this new Retroarch messed up lots of stuff..I haven't updated yet for that reason.
reznnate
There is a bug related to combination of new GLUI, 'emulators that render with OpenGL',' and using a launcher. Easiest thing to do for Hyperspin is switch GLUI to RGUI in settings->Driver
Uncleslim
Hmm still doesn't work for me with the stabel 1.3.0 version
reznnate
Then you might have something else wrong with your Hyperspin setup - switching GUI driver to RGUI fixes current OpenGL bug with Mupen64, ppsspp, etc.
Uncleslim
I got it working now ... just have to do the "switching GUI driver to RGUI" from at working emulator launched from within Hyperspin, and not directly in the stand alone RetroArch
Norkusa
Was going crazy last night trying to get N64 games to boot in my new HS Shield TV setup. Just switched from GLUI to RGUI and they work now. Thanks!
deaks1984
While I was trying to get sega cd running I switched from stock android retroarch and installed the latest nightly. Now N64 does not work. I have tried switching to RUI in retroarch and through hyperspin via a different emu and still no joy. Don't know what else it could be as it worked before. Henderson33
Cores been down a few weeks now, when it does work again I'm never updating it again I went to nighty builds and seen there was a new mupen64plus core released yesterday. Does it download the latest cores when u go to download within retroarch? I downloaded the core from the nighty build website but i dont know where to put it to get retroarch to see it i just want to see if it works now
Sting
I think the nightly builds are different from the nightly cores, and I think you need root access to use a downloaded core. You could try changing the core directory in Retroarch, and then put the core in the folder you set, and see if it works. I'll have a go myself if I have time in the next few days
Henderson33
I tried that. When u click the core it doesn't select it. Then when u leave retroarch and go back on it changes the directory back to the original directory

thatman84
Yeah my core directory doesn't change. I will need to look but I think you can change the download url address. So maybe instead of it download from buildbot.libretro stable you may be able to point that to the nightly core. That is a total guess by the way. thatman84
Otherwise you need root access to put the core you downloaded in the root cores folder. I think I have seen the download address I was talking about in the retroarch.cfg file
thatman84
URL to core update directory on buildbot. # core_updater_buildbot_url = "http://buildbot.libretro.com" This is taken from retroarch.cfg master found here https://github.com/libretro/RetroArch/blob/master/retroarch.cfg the info on the retroarch.cfg My guess is you can change that line in your retroarch.cfg file to Core_updater_buildbot_url= "http://buildbot.libretro.com/nightly/android/latest/x86/" This gets you to the latest core files Don't know if it works
Henderson33
Anyone had any success with this?
thatman84
Not tried, but hunters in retroarch forum confirmed the updater looks at the nightly builds anyway.
