Which Bezels are you guys using? Maybe I have to use bezels to make this work. Also, are you both running horizontal monitor or vertical?

Ok.. so I tried bezels and no go. I think what's happening is when the game transfers to mame, it resizes it even smaller than when configured outside of mame. My

monitor's native resolution runs at 640 x 288. Is there any way to change the game resolution to this? Man, 8 hours spent on this today. I can actually get the game to run and show

the full screen, it's just not proportioned right. Too narrow. Anyone have any other ideas?

... when the game transfers to mame...

Transfers to MAME? I just have mine setup as a PC game. Does this game also use MAME in some way?

I should also mention that while Giga uses RocketLauncher bezels, my settings work with the bezel built into the file/download.

EDIT: I'm thinking it might be your graphics card. It sometimes seems like many times someone has a weird problem, that is the card they are trying to use.

I have the FIFJ.exe running through PC launcher and added to the mame wheel as Gigapig's youtube video shows. I followed it exactly as shown.

The game seems to run full screen normally outside of hyperspin and mame. I'm wondering if there is a place to add a command line to adjust the

horizontal and vertical screen resolution in pc launcher.. Is this possible?

Gigapig any way to add something to the PCLauncher file to adjust screen resolution?

You can add a prelaunch script to perhaps change the resolution.

Good to hear the game runs fine without the frontend and Rocketlauncher. Did you also try adding the game to just Hyperspin so it runs from the main menu instead of a PC games or from the mame wheel?

I did have it on the mame wheel once but also had issue with game size.

Hmm. not sure. I'll have to try to tomorrow. I think it's how mame passes the video. I'm not good with script. Any idea on what I can try to get the right video?

So it's just on your MAME wheel database then, gotcha. I thought you meant you were actually running it using MAME or it was connected to MAME in some way.

I run mine from my Modern Classics wheel.

Well I never found a full solution to my original issue that I posted here. I guess you are running it on your monitor long ways where I am running it normal and having my issue.

Basically, now that I am running it in my cab.. it works about 80% of the time. Its very hit or miss whether the thing will center itself and size itself correctly and if it doesn't... I exit and restart a few times to make it work right. It also does not exit correctly and usually tasks me out of HS so I had to setup a button combo with a macro for alt-tab to get me back to HS without a keyboard. On top of that, it seems to cause some issues with HS bringing up the task bar on top of HS and any games you run after running this wrapper.

I am using windows 7 and I noticed after exiting it always makes my start button disappear from the task bar until I run the mouse over it and it reappears. So it clearly is doing some weird stuff.

I attempted to talk to the creator of the wrapper.. he responded once and said he doesn't use HS and didn't seem too interested in helping fix the issues after that. I understand I guess he has moved on and doesn't want to keep coming back to troubleshoot something he made for fun and all.

Weird. I'm on Win 10, but don't have those issues. That taskbar stuff sound especially aggravating. How do you have it set to close in your PCLauncher module?

Posted

Ok. This is officially driving me crazy. So, I can load the game directly through hyperlaunch and it comes up fine. I can load it directly through the program and it's fine.

Once I use PClauncher to load it, it comes up on the screen in it's entirety but I can't get it to stretch wide enough to look presentable. is there a prelaunch script I can write to make the

game come up to the resolution I need? If so, what would it be and where can I add it?

Not that I'm aware of. It ran differently for me outside of RocketLauncher/HyperSpin too, had to tweak the settings until I came up with those workable ones.

Can you rightclick on the game from your RocketLauncher list and alter the rez settings on a per-game basis from there?

Have you tried multiple combinations of zoom level, fullscreen checked/unchecked, percentage adjusted through the full range, timing adjusted from waaay out to very short etc?

Every possible combination you can think of?

I'm running HyperlaunchHQ instead of rocket launcher. If I right click on the game nothing happens. Not sure HyperlaunchHQ allows for resolution changes. I didn't see any.

Yes. I changed all of the wrapper.exe resolutions and nothing ports correctly through PClauncher.

Ah, that's the first I remember you saying you were running HyperLaunch HQ and not RLauncher.

Could be the issue as that would also mean you're running an old version of PCLauncher too.

I'm guessing the rest of us with it working are probably running it through RL...

I don't know man. I downloaded it from Giga I believe and ran it exactly as the instructions say, bezel included with it and all. I know how it is to get totally hung up on something that drives you nuts like this though. I've spent hours and hours trying to get something to work that I've literally played for maybe 1 or 2 minutes tops before. Might be best to just let this one go. Ha!

And you have tried the other way to run by just setting it in HyperHQ?

There is an older way using an ahk script which should still be in the PC LAUNCHER module folder, but it may have the same effect.

Or maybe try out Qres which you can download or it may be in the module extensions folder?? Can't remember if I put it in there or it comes with RL.

I'm going to try to set the AHK file in PC Launcher and see what happens. Is there a way to set resolution in HyperHQ for this game only?

The quickest thing to try will be running it through HyperSpin on the Main Menu, that my also give you an indication of whether HyperSpin is causing the odd resolution.

The game script will need some tweaking and maybe something commented out or maybe it's possible to add things to it to sort the res out.

So I tried running the game by itself outside of hyperspin and the mame wheel. Both ways, it is too narrow. It's definitely the program that's making it narrow. Is there a quick script to change

X and Y resolutions somehow? If someone could post that would be awesome.

Posted

It's the game script. Tried launching directly on my arcade monitor, through hyperlaunch directly and through PC launcher. Since I'm using a Neotec Monitor with 640 x 288 native resolution

It seems that on a horizontal monitor it will alight properly vertically, sides are just too narrow. The game can be played though. Does anyone running a horizontal monitor running fix it felix jr vertically with a good video resolution? If so, post your fix. I'm on this for about 3 days.

For my issue I am not running it with PC launcher I am running it Gigapig's other way... directly from the main menu of HS but I also have had it set up with pclauncher and it didn't change anything. But the thing is, the issue happens even when running it through windows 7 directly so I dont think it is anything about HS at this point. The task bar thing just affects HS after the exit of the program. Its possible maybe he designed this on windows 8 and thats why it is not working right on windows 7? i dunno at this point... I feel like I have tried everything.

Also, I have ran this on 2 different monitors and 2 different PCs with the same issue.. but both were windows 7.

Gigapig, I think I have a solution. In the guide that you put up on youtube, what version fix it felix did you use? Is it Howard's? (Dragon King).

He has a 5.3 version  which I think will work for horizontal monitors.

Do you have 5.3 or does anyone have it? The links don't work.

Pretty sure most everyone is running it on a horizontal monitor.

My guess is it's the combination of your lower-rez arcade monitor and Arcade VGA card.

The rest of us are probably using more standard/modern rez 4:3 or 16:9 monitors with standard PC graphics cards. Maybe the game can adjust for most standard settings, but not yours?

Posted

I think you're right. My arcade monitor is running natively at 640 x 288. I can get fulls screen, it just won't go wide enough. Now, if I change the resolution on my monitor to 800 x 600, I get

the proper screen but then get a shaking screen. Launching in hyper launch is not different or launching the program directly is no different so it' s my monitor. I wish there was a way to change

the screen resolution but it's embedded in the program I believe. Oh well, can't play this one unless the resolutions are adjusted by someone in the program.
