Creezz67 Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 Hi, Using RetroArch 17/3/16 build on Nvidia Shield TV to launch (i updated all cores) , settings ok, all goes ok until it tries to launch the game, then just a black screen ! Any ideas ? Thanks in advance
Sting Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 Try changing the menu driver in Retroarch to "rgui"
Anpanman Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 or perhaps you are trying to run an msx2 or + game in a msx1 vm. go into the core settings and change your machine type to an MSX turbo R then restart.
phulshof Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 Which core are you using? MSX on MAME needs software lists for many games. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
reznnate Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 Since I'm not familiar with MSX and the related sysem permutations and bioses seemed confusing, I just used this emulator and it works great for me: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fms.fmsx.deluxe
Creezz67 Posted March 18, 2016 Author Posted March 18, 2016 Hi, Thanks for feedback. Tried changing drive, no luck im using retroarch core cores/fmsx_libretro_android.so reznnate - if i get that emulator what settings would i use to get it working ? Thanks again
Creezz67 Posted March 18, 2016 Author Posted March 18, 2016 Hi, Downloaded msx emulator as mentioned by Reznnate and all works fine and plays games perfectly in that emulator itself, but when i try to play game in Hyperspin it just boot to the main menu setup of MSX Emulator. im using these settings: MSX.emu - Colecovision, MSX, etc. exe=com.explusalpha.MsxEmu/com.imagine.BaseActivity parameters= Any thoughts ? Thanks
Creezz67 Posted March 18, 2016 Author Posted March 18, 2016 also, Sting out of interest what difference is rgui driver compared to glui ? apart from different screens ? any benefits keeping it on rgui ? Thanks
Sting Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 also, Sting out of interest what difference is rgui driver compared to glui ? apart from different screens ? any benefits keeping it on rgui ? Thanks There were issues with Retroarch when it was released with the default white screen, and some emulator's didn't work with it, so I changed mine and kept it like that just to be on the safe side I don't have a fmsx wheel though, it's not a system I'm familiar with, so don't know of any other issues sorry :/
Creezz67 Posted March 19, 2016 Author Posted March 19, 2016 with what core reznnate ? using retroarch + fmsx_libretro_android.so ? Thanks
phulshof Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 I've got a nice setup using MAME with the software lists. MSX was my first computer, and I still love many of the games.
Creezz67 Posted March 20, 2016 Author Posted March 20, 2016 phulshof - What are MAME software lists ? do you have an example ? Also are you talking about MAME RetroArch CORE for MAME ? Thanks
phulshof Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 MAME uses software lists for removable media in consoles, home computers, etc. PD has full romsets for these that you can download. If your rompath is set correctly, you can then play these games using e.g. mame.exe snes smkart mame.exe nes smb3 I don't use RetroArch; I simply use MAME for most emulation. Pouteur Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 You just have to show the way for the msx bios in retraorch.
badhemi Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 Scroll to bottom to rom images and download 4 bios rom files.http://fms.komkon.org/fMSX/#Downloads
Creezz67 Posted March 22, 2016 Author Posted March 22, 2016 Hi, Thanks Where do I put the bios files ?
badhemi Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 Hi, Thanks Where do I put the bios files ? I have all my bios files together in one folder in root of hard drive. They can be wherever just point them out
