Superfrog
Hi guys, I'm new here and before I start my new adventure, I shall share some info about me My name is Wilbert AKA Superfrog, and I'm building some bartops. Here are some pictures of my creations: To see the bartops in action, you can take a look at my YouTube channel for more info. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCa8iVCPe0APw7517FTXtVwQ/videos After I finished my Popeye Nintendo bartop with crt monitor, I needed a new challenge. Did some lurking over the net, and jump right into some great build here on Hyperspin. I want to make a pinball and arcade machine in one. I think it's already done before, but not by me I wanna do a mini Pinball 2000 version with a 24 inch playfield and a 15, or 17 inch backglass monitor. It's gonna be a South Park theme. Yesterday I started with a mock-up for the right size. The Star Wars theme was just for testing.... Now it's time to do some wood working . Superfrog
Thanks Relic, The Popeye adventure was a hell of a ride. All the artwork I traced over in illustrator from a original picture. It was a lot of work, but at the end it looked amazing. Hope to have a lot of fun with this one.. Greetings

mameman
Cool, been planning on offering a mini p2k to go with the std mini pin I do today, should be a cool build. Are you going for 2 screens or are you going to add the DMd reflection also? WWW.Xtremepinball.com
Superfrog
No, just 2 screens because I need the full backglass display for playing the arcade games.
kizam33
so where are the arcade buttons going to go and joysticks? a lockdown bar with custom holes in it???
Luckydogg420
I always thought it would be cool to have the backbox rotate 180 and have a stand up arcade on the back of the pin. Although you couldn't put the end up against a wall. That Popeye machine is outstanding.
MTPPC
What kind of PC horsepower are you putting in that mini-pin?
Superfrog
The plan is no joystick. Wanna use the gamepad sticks and buttons on the lockdown bar. Real stick and buttons wil be to large for the looks i think. But thats the plan
mameman2013
Couple of random questions, what did u use to round the edges on the arcade machines and what are you using for the bezel to hold the marquee in place? I made a midi machine (no where near as good as your epic efforts) but it was a first time for me and those last bits on mine are not complete and make it look rough so im going to try building a desktop one next with a more professional finish. also how did u get the black glass look around the screen? cheers

On the second build 2.0 I used a router.. a lot faster I started my first try ever because of Koenigs great and clean projects and followed his Step by step contruction. I did some tweaks that was best for me. Here is a link so you can see all the magic and answers to your questions http://www.koenigs.dk/mame/eng/stepverticade.htm tip: the monitor bezel will go behind the back of the Marquee and hold it with some tape. that will do the job I like small details that is workout very nice, so the end result is slick. Just think a lot and plan things out what stick, buttons, color, materials u gonna need to use and never rush things, are my steps to begin on a new project. Superfrog
Finally I find the time to cut some MDF. I love this pinball shape. Next thing to do is hide the bezel of the monitor into the side of the cab. router time .... :creeper: See you next time in 2014
Superfrog
Little update here. I router the monitor slots, so I can build up the playfield box tomorrow. richie_jones
Nice build my friend but plexi!!!!? No substitute for glass, love your builds btw
Superfrog
Thanks to the fine mini pinball and tips of his Galaga build from Melon at BYOAC, I did jump into making my own pinball. Things to do is to finish the coindoor and lockdown bar. After that it's sandpaper and painting time...... First I wanted to build my own plunger like Melon, but when I order my button stuff, the shop had a all ready plunger in stock for 12 Euro's. I couldn't resist that one..... sad thing of this option is that I have to drop Mr. Hankie to be the plunger knob. See you later.
Superfrog
Had to redo my coindoor because the sound controller board did not fit. I had to move the coin button a little to the left That door cost me a lot of hours before it's ready
Superfrog
Coindoor is ready and after a lot of testing, the plexi bending for the lockdown bar is finally done. Tomorrow drill the holes in it for the buttons and stick and then the building part is finished Till then...... Rock on !!
Superfrog
I attach some parts of the gamepad to the lockdown bar to hold the stick and buttons in the original position. Now I get loose with filler, sandpaper and paint !! Greetings
