shilmover
Chris, good luck with the motors. You are killing us! Okay, so i did a bit of work on the LEDs. This is the wood that I have as the trim on either side of the pinball I routed a groove down the middle (it had snowed and was cold here so I did that in the garage... very noisy and dusty I drilled 3 holes in the wood for the LEDs but did not take a picture of it. The LEDs where about 1/4, 1/2, and 3/4 from the top of the LCD, starting near the backbox. I then removed the LED from the heatsink: And wired up the connections: Here are the LEDs installed temporarily: From the front: And a couple more: Videos coming shortly... shilmover
With 5v no glass: kkcHt9_C1eE With 12v no glass: JsPx3nR-c1c With 12v & glass: ngDe22c48pk Hard to tell, but the 12v & under glass makes a difference. Wont know for sure until I have the software to really test with.

chriz99
Great work shilmover!! it's amazing!!! I love this, but i can't put it in my 46" but It's fantastic! don't you have a 1 - 1.5cm foam on top of the lcd-rails? you could install some leds in there, or simply split the foam and add a wooden led housing? shilmover
nice work!... that looks awesome. too bad the last video doesnt work Thanks. It does not work? Works for me? I am going to try to see if flaring the LED hole will make a difference. Will report back. Thats looks good!!!!Are these LED able to recreate the flash effect you get from flashers, for instance destroying the UFO on AFM?? That's the idea. I am hoping to control 6 LEDs on the playfield and 3 on the backbox (plus some extras, but I am keeping that secret for now... ) So does the color reflect on to the play field? Somewhat, yes... Miracleman
Hey Chris and all others! Took a break from my project but am now ready to resume by getting the 46 inch lcd for the pf. Wanted to see what everyone thought of this one on sale this weekend at Best Buy for $700... Sony - BRAVIA 46" Class / 1080p / 60Hz / LCD HDTV Model: KDL46EX400 | SKU: 9763694 It's only a 60hrz lcd, but that's what Chris' Sharp is in his game, so I'm thinking it's ok. Any suggestions? What brand are other 46 inch VP people using? Thanks!

I would suggest you to check the inputlag (ms) of the sony. you have to search the web (forums, like avs) for that info. my sharp has nearly no inputlag, which is necessary (especially) for playing pinball games. gbeef
here is an "easy schematic " to install the industry relay: ps: its better to use an extern 12V-DC poweradapter (I use an old solid 10amps 12V-DC poweradapter) instead the pc-powersupply. its just saver. ps2: there is electricity. do it only if you know what you do. I will take no responsibility for this. Hey chris i got everything so far except the diodes, Would you happen to have a live picture of your flipper setup? chriz99
check out ext2k thread for a live pic http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/showpost.php?p=96804&postcount=78 if you use ledwiz, you need only a positive and negative wire at a1+ / a2- and a diode (like in4007, silver side goes to a1+ and black side to a2-). without ledwiz you have to use the "easy schematic"
njay
but you still need to power them with a seperate supply righto? if you use the ledwiz?

Ext2k
And If you need more faster velocity on your ipac signal you need an octocoupler too.

chriz99
Nice! How does it sound? feel? It sounds and feels like a gear motor If you play for example the "real" addams family pinball you can hear the gear motor when the bookshelf is moving. most pinball games use a gear motor, so it's a nice add-on when everything else is emulated.
