Hyperspiners I’m happy to announce that the files required for Gigapig's great TTX Video Tute are now on the FTP.

You will find the files in my folder langersld/Taito Type X Files and within Gigapig's FTP folder.

We have spent some time putting an all in one TTX folder together for you guys...

Thankyou to everyone who helped contribute with the files we have used for our Tute.

We have attempted to make these files and folders as comprehensive as possible.

Please follow Gigapig's comprehensive video tute.

Happy gaming people...:cheers:

After working with my good friend Langers for a few months on the files, I've now put together a 30 minute video tutorial to go with them.

It should help everyone, both beginner and expert set up Taito Type X without the use of any loader. We did want to remove the use of the loader

as Hyperlaunch is a launcher after all.

Thanks to everyone who has contributed to all the TTX threads, all your questions and answers have helped mold what we have here.

Sweet! I managed to get Taito Type X working a while ago, although it was a bit dodgily done. I'm keen to scrap that and start afresh with this guide, I'll let you know how it goes.

Nice job Gig. TTX is the mother of all whores. I realize this isn't your call to make (hoping someone with the magic wand can respond) Instead of FTP, why is this stuff not added into the actual GIT? Seriously think about it.

We now have Hypersync handing out databases

The Taito Type X.ini files are pretty much complete (with anything HS related all EXE's/bats have to match the database and INI contents so I see no problem)

The standardization of console folder names

DXWnd module (the program itself is free via sourceforge so why not pre package into GIT?)

PClauncher module

PRE LOADING this stuff vi GIT would also pretty much eliminate your steps in configuring HLHQ game settings.

I realize this is a touchy system but the related files that are already distributed and what "could" be distributed would in no way be breaking any rules since it's not supplying roms.

More importantly - if this were to be supplied as I suggested it would literally boil down to exe/bat matching. I realize that's a "blanket" statement. :)

PS - Need to cover/mention the Windows 8 issues I so kindly brought up and supplied answers to :) Not everyone is wanker stuck on Win7 like you hah hah

So here I am a few hours later, I got everything setup according to you tutorial video, and everything went smooth until the configuring keys part. When I start up the pad_config I can set all the keys but no matter what I do clicking "OK" does nothing like it never registers. I even tried tabbing til it highlighted OK and pressing enter and still nothing, so I have to X it out or hit Cancel which in doing so saves nothing. So my simple idea was to copy over your xbox config typex_bindings which copied over fine and even showed the keys correctly. But in game the controller doesn't work, everything is in it's default state still, like F1 being insert coin. This is for every game that uses pad_config. The other games like arcana heart 3 and xb_loader works perfectly with remapping keys. Any ideas here?

As far as the tutorial video though, everything was spot on and followed perfectly and everything loads up, just key remapping is acting weird.

Sithel how are you selecting the key inputs in pad_config.exe... are you using your mouse to select the appropriate key config?

The small square behind each input needs to be pressed before you can register a new input.

Thanks Deadly.

I really don't know enough about GIT to comment about that personally.

The Windows 8 issues I had completely forgotten about sadly, I tried to cover all I could and thank everyone I could, but this is a big system to cover.

The guide is a general guide and to cover everything probably would have taken me forever.

I'll have a look back at the other thread or if you could remind me or point me to the posts that would great. I don't wish to exclude anyone based on there choice of OS. ;)

Have a great New Year Sir.

Sadly the Aussie voice over guy didn't show. I should have asked Langers or yourself to do it. ;)

I'll let ya know if you did a passable pommie accent. ;)

The bezel will only show up by running the game from Raiden III.exe and having the bezels in the game folder. Is it just RIII which has a problem, or the other vertical games as well?

ok thanks plus I had to rename the bezel image to just bg and not bg43.

Plus how do u put super street fighter into full screen and not with black bars at top and bottom if u can. Thanks

Thank you for pointing thay out Andyco, I don't run a 4:3 monitor so never knew, I will try and add the info on to the Tute.

For me the 2 player version has black bars, just like yours. Langers has a single player exe which you can swap out, but it is single player. Perhaps we can add that to the files.

Let us know if you need it.

Cheers.

This is correct, I click the box with my mouse then press the appropriate key. It registers the new key, I then continue all the way down changing all the keys then go to click "OK" and clicking that does nothing. So by not being able to click OK, nothing saves and I have to click Cancel or X out the config. Saving Gigapig's Xbox config saves the keys he added into it, but when I go into game nothing is working with those key presses. It's still using all the default key maps.

What controller are you using? And do you use xpadder?

Once you have gone through the setup can you just fit enter on the keyboard, to save the settings?

Have a look at this also, it shows a "?" next to joy, this happens if the pad is switched off when you start Pad_config. Does yours show Joy[0]?

BTW, from your earlier post, I'm very glad you followed the guide and in a few hours you were set (apart from this of course) nice one. :top:

**Update to all this..

I really didn't do anything but I have my whole hyperspin drive on a test PC and everything else works perfectly in every emulator I have. Being that I was having this issue, I just unplugged the drive and stuck it on the PC I will using in my arcade cabinet. (Still a work in progress)

Doing everything the same, I was now able to edit all the keys and save it by clicking "OK". Now all games are working that I have by following your tutorial. On my test PC I think it was Raiden III or IV, whichever one has that Green square at the bottom. Anyways I had that, but on my cabinet PC it's not there at all which is good. My arcade PC is a much newer PC with a Geforce 470 gtx so no idea if its a driver or video card issue, but thought I'd mention it.

Side note is that all these weird key mapping issues could have come from my anti virus blocking and quarantining things even though I told it not to. Seems like a few of these files are false positives I assume. Next up is following your guide to Otomedius. :P

Oh and btw, maybe not related to this topic but I have Contra Evolution Revolution, which plays fine outside hyperspin. But inside I can't get AHK to remap keys or fix the crash when trying to exit the game. Maybe if you have this game and wanted to make a quick tutorial for it that would be great! Again, thanks for all your work!

** Oh and quick edit

In task manager is it normal that the irotate is still running even after I exit the vertical games?

Aren't all of our systems a work in progress? And our cabs are either planned or we are planning to build another one. ;)

Isn't this the truth lol

I've been wanting the frontend (software) side of things perfect before I build my cabinet. This has been a WIP since I registered here. I just took about 5-6 months off from messing with this and here I am again :P

Anyways, after reading what seemed list hours of the Type X topic that's like 100 pages long, I've started to get somewhere.

1) Homura when I press Esc to go back to hyperspin it gets stuck there and i have to left click my mouse. I tried everything in Type X topic about restore and click and even gigapigs restore ahk, neither works. Also this game has the green square in the corner.

2) I finally got Contra and key mapping through ahk, but exiting still crashes and ahk stays on with my keys remapped to where I have to start task manager and kill the script

Getting these to things to work correctly is driving me crazy :(

Hi Sithel,

can you post your Homura module setting for pclauncher.ahk... are you using Homura.exe as the application file?

Posted

Sure thing. I believe this is what your looking for ?

[Homura]
Application=..\Emulators\Taito Type X\Homura\HMR_Launcher.exe
AppWaitExe=game.exe
FadeTitle=HOMURA for TypeX
ExitMethod=WinClose Application

Here's a screenshot of what i'm currently using but I've tried a few different things with the same result.

post-69389-142870616056_thumb.jpg

I know I did this at 3am but am I suppose to be using the Homura.exe or what I currently have? I thought this was all correct according to the tutorial video. The game itself runs fine except for the green square and exiting issue :P
