macaco Posted July 1, 2016 Posted July 1, 2016 i've already enabled lightgun input, dual lightguns, changed controller mapping settings, etc ... setting exactly the same as previous mame versions that worked with dual lightguns. just thought i may have missed something simple.

After trying every version from 171 I hoped to get confirmation that it worked before wasting pointless hours when someone had already done that[emoji20]
Sorn Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 Just wanted to chime in and direct everyone to the thread where we are trying to work through the dual lightgun bug. I am the submitter of the bug to mame and Pitou has submitted a patch for testing. Its not fully working but its almost there. At this moment it appears that 0173, 0174 and 0175 still have the bug that prevents gun2 from being recognized and added. 0172 as described and provided in the below thread is still the latest working version with dual lightgun support, at least for Aimtrak guns. I do not know how the other mfg's compare.I did test this build posted here on HS with various lightgun/mouseprovider options with no success at getting mame to recognize both gun1 and gun2. At least the Pitou patch gets mame to recognize both guns. There is a precompiled version with the patch available at my thread here - http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=150393.msg1579910 It would be great if everyone with dual lightgun setup could try that 0175 patched mame64 with the updated 0175 mame.ini options set to auto, specifically lightgunprovider and mouseprovider.

I'm currently testing different options for mame dev. Yes the above patch does work to an extent. Im still curious as to how others have got dual guns working on mame versions after 171. Any input would be valuable to all.
