rastan Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 anyone know where I can find a updated step by step tutorial (or even a decent old one) for setting up RetroArch...? I think it's time that I finally sit down and tackle this emulator as I've given up on it in the past...
SkyHighGam3r Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 anyone know where I can find a updated step by step tutorial (or even a decent old one) for setting up RetroArch...? I think it's time that I finally sit down and tackle this emulator as I've given up on it in the past... Normally I'd point you towards Simply Austin's great videos... but his RetroArch video is very outdated. They've just done a lot since he set that up back when. I've been thinking about doing one though. I want to try to make a few tutorials on my channel. Mostly for the really unconventional stuff I throw in my build, but some basics like this too. Essentially though, all you're gonna need to do is: Download RetroArch Setup controls/video, etc. In RetroArch's menu there's an online updater. Use it to download the emulator or 'core' (or cores) for the system you want. Load your game Play It seems daunting at first, but once you've played with it you realize it's really not that different than most emulators. The only thing that's new is the 'cores'. Which, once downloaded, you never have to worry about really.
damageinc86 Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 anyone know how to get the menu bar to show the console icons like in their promo video?
SkyHighGam3r Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 anyone know how to get the menu bar to show the console icons like in their promo video? No, I've never seen/heard of this. What promo video?
damageinc86 Posted July 21, 2016 Posted July 21, 2016 The video showing the new retroarch. It looks like a full on PS3 menu with icons for each retro system. But when I opened retroarch, loaded cores, opened games,...i still had to do it manually and it never made a menu item like it shows in the video. I'm sure it's something simple, I just never saw the option to "add system" or something like that.
