Hey guys i didnt want to post a thread on the main board cause im pretty sure this has been discussed but i cant find the original thread. That being said; Im just about to finish my cabinet for work. Understand that this cab WILL BE ON 24/7! Is there a way to streamline all the HS processes so I wont have to be dealing with freezing and crashing after random times of non use? Im not sure what kind of time window im looking in(run time) before videos start freezing etc.. anyone have any similar situations?

Unfortunately, no way to know, and it doesn't look like there will be any HyperSpin updates to fix the issue anytime soon, if ever. Honestly, I would move on to a different front end if you want to keep it on 24/7. I have. I can't use a front end as broken as HyperSpin is, unfortunately, even though it is head and shoulders better (in theory) than any other FE. I wish someone could prove me wrong but nobody here has any answers as to what's going on with HyperSpin updates and everyone is just too afraid to ask at the risk of being ostracized. Frankly I don't care at this point.

I'm not sure how to fix that, I'm sure it's broken like jumpstile said, but have tried turning off attract mode? Or if you've had a session playing say, Caveman Ninja, just leave it on that game. Does it still crash when you go back to it?

havent tried anything as of yet, my last test went 14 hours before a crash.. but that was a straight 14 hr of non use. Im going to have to test it out when i put it out for my employees to play. I guess i can report back with my findings

It's never broke when I've used it, repeat , never ever crashed. Still waiting for the day it does and it never comes. What's broken?

I've never left it on when it's not in use for longer than 5 hours, I don't see the point in wasting power running an attract mode for a given time. I made an idle shutdown timer that turns it off for me when not used so it never goes past the 5 hour mark untouched.

Understand that this cab WILL BE ON 24/7!

You have set all the power options to stay on constant? Going into hibernation , turning off your hard drives etc could cause a problem there no doubt.

Leave your rig on for a week in attract mode just like you would if you had a man cave and let us know if it crashes.

Now, does he have to go back and check it, after, say having a cigar, having sex, taking a dump ( not necessarily in that order) during the course of said week; kinda like normal. Or does he have leave it completely alone?

It's a cab in a man cave. If he isn't in there at least a couple of times a day sipping on a beer or playing games I'd wonder why he had a man cave. Sounds more like a big girls cave if that was the case. ;)

Not so sure about the dump option. Perhaps change that to gaming and then I'd say yep check it while smoking a cigar, having sex and gaming all at the same time. I know that's possible cause I've done it and even had a beer.

actually gents, its going in the game lounge at work, I have a feeling its really going to be idle for maybe about 5 hours a night when everybodys at home. other than that im expecting people to be up its ass all day. All the power saving options will be turned off. Let hope its a soldier like my NeoGeo and 60-1 cabs. that 60-1 has been on 24/7 since late july
