craiganderson
But I thought that folks always say that most of the stuff on the FTP is free for download anyways and that the FTP is just more convenient and that is what one gets for paying for access to the FTP..... craiganderson
Because they reshare content made here and give nothing back. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S3 using Tapatalk 4. Don't they make lots of themes, artwork etc and make them completely 100% freely downloadable to anybody who wants them without charging a penny? Isn't that "giving back?" floatingyeti
Craig you cant take what Pole said so personally. I think he has a very valid point about maintaining a level of quality and standards. He was giving you helpful advice so you could better use your time to create work that will be more widely used. I've actually spent a lot of time creating and uploading material for very obscure systems that could be considered to be against a lot of the standards set here. I appriciate the support I've received and the moderators not calling me out for not posting in the standard formats. Take the critisism and fix what you can to better help the community. No one is stopping you from uploading your work (I like and use some of your work) Pole just wants to help you reach the level of quality you have been striving for. craiganderson
I'm not taking anything personally. I just think it is kinda weird to have a word be banned on a site. Try to type *********spin. You cant do it. It gets switched to what you see here: *********spin. I mean, let the market and people decide whether or not they want to mention *********spin. If it is such a bad site, nobody will mention *********spin. *********spin. *********spin. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
craiganderson
No offense, but I think the "quality and standards" argument is silly. This is video game stuff ..... not life and death decisions......... (And it makes everything look the same, repetitive, one size fits all, cookie cutter, moderator approved look of hyperspin...IMHO) Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I think there is a great point in "dividing the community." Competition makes everyone stronger. Better. Faster. Maybe they don't want to be under the moderator boot of constant single pixel criticism.......just maybe. I think it is great how they have 100% free download links in the threads. No big brother stuff over there. If u like it, download it. If not move on.....why cant this site let "the people" decide what they want? Allow download links. Make life easier. Increase freedom. Increase choice. Liberty! It would " make it much easier" for this site to control everybody but it would in no way make it easier for them to keep rolling the way they wanna roll....IMHO Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
craiganderson
Dice crashes often when exiting a game to get back to hyperspin. Anybody else experience this? Fix?thanks It's a known issue with Dice 0.8. This doesn't seem to be an issue with Dice 0.9. Is that correct in everybody else's experience? thanks craig and as a side note this change to the .ahk file seemed to fix the 0.8 crashing problem on my system: change WinClose("DICE ahk_class phoenix_window") to Process, Close, Dice.exe MEmuV = v0.8 MURL = http://adamulation.blogspot.com/ MAuthor = djvj MVersion = 2.0.1 MCRC = C5F266C7 iCRC = 1E716C97 MID = 635038268883967308 MSystem = "DICE" ;---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ; Notes: ; Create 4 txt files in the emu dir, one each for Gotcha, Pong, Rebound and SpaceRace. ; romExtension should be txt ; Point both emu and rom dirs to the dir that contains Dice.exe ; Dice stores its config in your user dir: C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\dice ; Bezels do not work yet, emu has a statusbar at the bottom that even when removed, still shows up in windowed mode ;---------------------------------------------------------------------------- StartModule() ; BezelGui() FadeInStart() settingsFile := modulePath . brolly
craig if you're doing them at 60fps, length doesn't matter just make sure the gameplay video is longer than 30 seconds and the title video longer than 5 seconds. Trimming will be done after submission, so feel free to submit the avi files.

But I understand your point of view too, and I like your work on the older systems (I have your Sord M5 system and have made a system video with the videos you've made. It's on my emumovies ftp).
