Hypertheme made video captures

Just wondering, I see a bunch of hypertheme made themes captured to video but not a zip to be found. Am I not looking in the right place or is Hypertheme cheating on us?

those captures are usually used by other Frontends. They capture awesome hyperspin themes using a capture software like Openbroadcast something and use those to spruce up an otherwise bland summery of the video game they are interested in.
there are however some cinematic themes, that use a pre rendered  graphics and fades that you can't do in hypertheme. these are made with Sony Vegas or Adobe premiere or some other video montage application. these, if they are available, can be found in the platinum section.

Hypertheme lets you build themes using static images or flash animations and it has a screen capture function but it does not have a "compile to video" function. so it's actually very honest.

I guess you could just set a create a "default" theme to display a full screen video only with minimal load time .5sec with transitions.

Replicate it for all your tiles/themes etc.

But where is the fun in that.

I converted a bunch of snes ones back for use with hyperspin.

 

Big issue is most of the videos are in 4x3 aspect ratio so get stretched if using 16x9 monitor.

 

If your keen on doing it tag me and i will let you know the process as i got it done in batch. Takes 5mins to batch hundreds

 

Edit also you lose some theme layers because the video layer renders above things like text
