madduke Posted August 30, 2019 Posted August 30, 2019 Hi Guys! Just to report (I've seen a couple of Spanish people also reported in Spanish) and I can confirm that Hyperspin doesn't work on 1903 Windows 10. It just doesn't start. Starting from Rocket Launcher works normally. Basically same thing that happened last year with 1803? version. Hope someone can make a patch.
Honosuseri Posted August 30, 2019 Posted August 30, 2019 I'm using Win 10 Pro 1903, Hyperspin works just fine "There is so much more and beckons me. To look through to these, infinite possibilities..."
Creezz67 Posted August 30, 2019 Posted August 30, 2019 Same here, Windows 10 Home 64bit, 1903 works perfectly
madduke Posted September 1, 2019 Author Posted September 1, 2019 It's fast lane so it's coming in the future Tested on 1 AMD Ryzen 1700 and 1 Intel 8550U PC to confirm.

You've opted to be in the "fast ring" so you're effectively a beta tester. You should be telling Microsoft that the update has broken an application from launching, so it can be fixed and not be an issue for those in the "slow ring". "There is so much more and beckons me. Aorin Posted September 2, 2019 Posted September 2, 2019 HyperTheme has broken since 1803 builds, so it's likely more stuff will stop working as Microsoft updates their OS. Maybe @jhabers could investigate this? Aorin

Another user said the same about a previous build, but it works only in the home versions, which still isn`t ideal. Thanks for letting us know! Aorin

I've been using Hypertheme, same build Windows 10 Pro. I saw it was said the simple wheel creator application also wasn't compatible on Windows 10 but I have it working "There is so much more and beckons me. Would you guys who have it working mind zipping and uploading your Hypertheme so I can try it? Aorin

You seem to have a different setup, while I`m on Intel and Nvidia, you seem to be using an AMD CPU, anyway I don`t think it should break this application. Did you do anything, like, that could possibly make it work or it just works without any issue? Aorin

No special settings unless there's something in the HyperTheme folder config file. Simple wheel creator I did tinker in the compatibility tab though. ***EDIT*** Maybe the .NET frameworks and visual C++ have something to do with it. I might have stuff installed you guys don't "There is so much more and beckons me. To look through to these, infinite possibilities..."

OK, it was the other guy with the AMD CPU, I`ll update the 1903 frameworks so we can check which ones you have and maybe find the culprit. Thanks again. Aorin

I believe this very same Windows 10 Home build was mentioned earlier as working for Hypertheme. Aorin
Honosuseri Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 We're build .295 yours is showing .329 "There is so much more and beckons me. To look through to these, infinite possibilities..."
Aorin Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 Probably it has nothing to do with HyperTheme issues, I also tried previous builds as well. Aorin

And that is going to happen? :) The point is that if this is happening to me in the Fast Ring that it will most likely happen to everybody in the future. That's why I've cried wolf here. So hopefully it gets resolved before it comes to that :) I've tested with both AMD Ryzen and Intel based machines and it's the same in the fast ring. My Arcade machine is on a regular version of windows 10 pro 64bit (just like my NAS which has the roms) and there it works normally on the latest stable update. (Also, one is Intel Sandy and other AMD Ryzen.).

Hyperspin was seen as a virus to Windows Defender until a forum member (not a dev or mod) reported the error to M$. So yes it does actually help rather than just posting on here "There is so much more and beckons me. To look through to these, infinite possibilities..."

Win10 have anything like that in a control panel?Sent from my SM-A520W using Tapatalk
Spawk Posted September 5, 2019 Posted September 5, 2019 OK after some reading, it surely isn't Desktop Composition (Windows Desktop Manager)... seems there is no way to turn it off on win10! Damn, wish I could remember why I had to turn it off... sorry for interrupting.

Then try running it. I tried running exe first from folder directly, but got blank screen, then when I ran it from the exe that was in same folder as Hyperspin.exe it works fine. Worth a try.

Yeah mine is always in Hyperspin root folder, I tried it in many ways. It`s clear HyperTheme is broken on Windows 10 for some time. The only way I see it working again is updating the application itself from the source. Aorin
