I've been doing more tests. I have got it to work on W10 v2004 x64. This attached system file (sxs.dll) needs to be put into the root Hyperspin folder (it is not necessary to put the ntdll.dll file). It is a file from v1909 located in  Windows\SysWOW64\. I have run it on a 64 bit w10 v2004 final virtual machine (clean install). I don't know if it will work on w10 v2004 x32bit. I am attaching the analog dll file from the Windows\system32\ folder of v1909, in case someone wants to try it by following the same steps to see if it works. I put a test capture. Thank you very much for everything.

He estado haciendo más pruebas. He conseguido que funcione en W10 v2004 x64 final. Hay que meter en la carpeta raíz de Hyperspin este archivo de  sistema (sxs.dll) adjunto (no es necesario meter el archivo ntdll.dll). Es un archivo de la v1909 situado en Windows\SysWOW64\. Lo he ejecutado en una máquina virtual del w10 v2004 de 64 bits (instalación limpia). No se si funcionará en w10 v2004 de 32 bits. Adjunto el archivo dll análogo de la carpeta system32 de la v1909, por si alguien lo quiere probar siguiendo los mismos pasos para ver si funciona. Pongo una captura de prueba. Gracias por todo.

Can confirm Hyperspin starts with this DLL in HS root and its able to trigger Rocketlauncher to boot games. 
But HyperHQ still not starting. Task is openeing for a second and then closes.

In my test HyperHQ works, but HyperTheme doesn´t work. May need other dlls.

I downloaded a fresh copy of HS. 
Put in sxs.dll in root bevore first launch. 

HS, HSHQ and HyperTheme launching without any configuration or compatibility. 
Just out of the Box.

I copied HQ exe from Download to my installation and after this. HQ also works there.

Yes. I put again a full install of hyperspin with sxs.dll and now my HyperTheme is working too. We have opened the way for a new version of the Hyperspin.

The old trick of dropping DLLs inside software's folder 😛

Probably someone should pack the ddls and upload them in download section as "windows 2004 fix", as far as I know copyright has never been a problem with DLLs

Hey everyone! I'm so pumped to hear you guys came up with a work around. We see the error on our end, but unfortunately the issue is with our compiler, not with the actual app. We're reaching out to the creator of the third party library and hoping for an "official" fix.

In the meantime, if there is anything I can do to help, please let me know!

You guys rock.

Awesome stuff guys! I wasn’t too far off I guess 😂 will create a restore point on my Hyperspin drive then move over the .dll’s. And looking forward to the official fix as well.  👍

Great work to all who have spent the time trying to resolve and now fix this issue.

Can confirm also that it works with the sxs.dll file supplied.

I have tested the following using Windows 10 Home Edition (version 2004 - 19041.264) 64bit and all load/work ok:

Hyperspin.exe

HyperHQ.exe

HyperTheme.exe

RocketLauncherUI.exe

Also a few emulators:

Cemu.exe

RPCS3,RetroArch,PCSX2, MAME

All working fine.

A big thank you to all of you that took the time to work on this, it's great to see some great team work back on the forum. 

Just out of interest (because I have no clue but I am interested) what do those dll do?

They make HyperSpin work again 😄

 

I seriously don't know....all I know is when I viewed Event Viewer, it pointed to 2 .dll files that were faulty when HyperSpin was trying to run.  Someone with some deeper knowledge of .dll's would know more....or Google...but I'm glad we got it running again.

I am very happy that people can continue to play HyperSpin in this new version of Windows v2004 while a new official version comes out. It has been worth the effort of everyone to find a temporary and easy solution. From day 0 that I updated to the new version, I saw that there were already problems loading the Hyperspin, so I investigated in the forum and on my pc, contributing my grain of sand, and between all of us we have succeeded.

I think it is a wonderful front end that should never disappear, for me the best, that brings us closer to all the consoles and emulated systems. Especially dear to me are the 90s consoles from Sega and Nintendo.

Long live HyperSpin!

I can dig in an decompile them if we're really interested, but I can almost guarantee (based on the error code types) this is part of Microsoft's initiative to "drop" support for any application that relies on legacy device support. As Hyperspin is a number of years old at this point, it falls under this category in a number of areas. Adding back old dlls just short circuits the lookup for the DLL and loads the old one first.

Si tiene problemas con HyperSpin que no se abre en Win10 v2004, consulte la sección de descarga. Subí los archivos .dll y las instrucciones.

A partir de ahora no hay una nueva actualización de HyperSpin, pero sigue revisando.

works great for hyperspin but a lot of emulators are stutterring like Mame demul and more anyone other have this issue after windows update? Problem solved Thanks for you Solution for Hyperspin pacifikballa

hola a todos he resulet el problema de que no arrancara hyperspin le añadi  el archivo sxs.dll pero ahora cuando voy a cargar cualquier juego me pone este mensaje: cannot find launcher y no carga ningunjuego las animaciones videos y sonidos van perfectos salvo por eso asi que si alguien sabe lo que tengo que hacer le pido encarecidamente que me ayude con un tutorial para tontos  gracias

hola a todos descargue el arrchivo sxs.dll y lo instale en la rais de hyperspin ,se inicia de maravilla,los sonidos y los videos funcionan ala perfeccion pero cuando intento entrar en cualquier juego me da este error: cannot find launcher y queri saber como solucionarlo he mirado por internet por youtube y nada espero que me ayudeis por favor
