This thing would be full speed ahead if they didnt try and lock it down. Yes, but that's why beta testers are upset. Take a moment to think about how most people used HyperSpin 1.5. It was used to display themes/media according to user defined databases and pass game launching on to Rocketlauncher. Yes, it could do a bit more than that but for most users that was the extent of it. I understand they want to eliminate Rocketlauncher, that's not an issue. It's reasonable to expect (even during beta testing) that the most basic function of any software bearing the name "HyperSpin" would correctly display themes/media. Specifically in the HyperSpin menu first and foremost. Any expanded functionality is a bonus but should not be focused on until the primary feature of HyperSpin works. It's a spinning wheel that displays themes, videos, and logos. Can we get that working first? 1

Asparky Posted May 5 Posted May 5 I've used all the front ends out there, since the 2000;s, starting with MameWah, GameEx, Etc. Hyperspin, was the easiest to setup, but now, Hyperspin 2.0, is a flaming mess, its trying to be something it cannot be. Trying to be a Clone of another isnt really the way to go, what users want, is just Hyperspin 1.5 to be updated, with some new Features. Also, the links for Pain Relief and Weight Loss are still there, if you require them.......... 1 2

You can still have your themes etc... but now theyre stored on your account.. on their server... if you want others to get them... make them public. RL is still supported. They supported it out of the gate. Theyre not eliminating it. It's a spinning wheel that displays themes, videos, and logos. <---- This is what I just said... its the caching system messing everything up. Storing the cache on the C drive etc... Ive added every single wheel they offer... I know what works and what doesnt... and its ONLY specific wheels that have problems.... THere are a lot of them....ITS ALL MEDIA RELATED... Everything else works pretty well.... hopefully in the next update they adderss things. Theres also the grey screen that im getting now... same as the other screen where you would get the white dot in the center cause things ran out of ram.... So they obviously recycled the same code... Theres other problems too.... I dont think anything actually gets refreshed when clearing cache.... Ive checked all the files on C while doing it..... and nothing gets deleted.. no file size changes.. nothing. Its a bit weird.
floatingyeti Posted May 6 Posted May 6 @rik81 I was agreeing with you not making a counterpoint. I've also used Rocketlauncher with HS 2.0 but it felt more like a workaround than something supported.
Asparky Posted May 10 Posted May 10 Well its Saturday and guess what, the Forums have been very Busy with updates and News of what is Going on........NOT........ Its every couple of weeks and if someone, is just popping in, just to have a look on the site, will think nothing is happening and possibly the site is dead. Someyhing at least once a week, would be good, not when someone feels like it. The link I posted shows regular updates... usually every few weeks. There's tons of work happening on this project. Asparky Posted May 18 Posted May 18 The Link, that hasnt been updated since the 26 April, I think someone is trying to pull a fast one. We were promised updates at least every couple of weeks, its nearly a Month now, with no update. The only thing that does seem to get updated, are Links to Pain Killers and Sun Tan products........

I am asking the same question, that most people on here want asking, not to replied with an answer like that. The only reason, I can see with that sort of reply, is you know the fact, that you understand the feeling of most of the members on here and you cannot cope with it.
Asparky Posted Saturday at 08:23 AM Posted Saturday at 08:23 AM So we have now got an update today. Does that mean we only going to get news of what is going on once a Month now? I am only asking, so I dont raise my expectations, during the Long wait for the next update, though it was promised we would be informed every couple of weeks.

It still takes forever to load up, and even when that happens it just sits there unable to load Hyperspin. Also, what's is the point on doing HyperTheme first ? Get it (Hyperspin) working at least , then we might be able to use it. Priority No1 ..... Get it loading faster .... Currently, I can literally watch Ben Hur while it's loading and even when that's finished it's still chugging away 2
Asparky Posted Monday at 02:44 PM Posted Monday at 02:44 PM So it looks like we are going to get a Ferrari Body, with the Dev of the Theme Maker, but the running with a Reliant Robin Engine.......
Creezz67 Posted Monday at 07:00 PM Posted Monday at 07:00 PM Exactly like Launchbox I tried to tell them months ago but they thought they knew better … they should rename it Titanic 2.0 because it’s an absolute disaster that’s just hit the iceberg and will be on its way down to the bottom of the ocean very soon. 2
rik81 Posted yesterday at 12:52 AM Author Posted yesterday at 12:52 AM I havent tried it yet... but if the displaying media portion and overrides is still broken... then all this other stuff doesnt matter.

A lot of work is going into Hypertheme. It’s only beta and already beats the tar out of HS1. We can do things that simply weren’t possible before. This thing’s going to take time but it’s going to be well worth it. Atari 2600 Theme Pack - Now Uploaded! If you want people to jump on and start believing in things... Fix the media first so it displays the way its meant to be displayed.... not some wheels showing everything... while other wheels completely ignore their media. And this goes for the themes too... you can download them... but the hyperspin side of things just chooses to show blank media. You can see the changes in HyperHQ... IDK. Nobody is going to care about the shiny new rails when the engine is on fire. 1

It looks incredible and an amazing leap forward in functionality. But its also frustrating that HyperTheme gets an update that clearly caters to users wants and expectations while HyperSpin does not. The HyperSpin (menu) component of the beta seems to be the lowest priority. It feels like it was hastily developed just for the purpose of using the HyperSpin name on a radically different front-end. 1 1
mikty Posted yesterday at 03:04 PM Posted yesterday at 03:04 PM If only we could have the support of xml databases (severals years of works to tune them), it would be a great advanced feature 1 1
