Can we get a dev update please?

It’s been well over 2 months guys.

I understand everyone is busy, but I feel every update posted is getting further and further drawn out.

I'm still working on artwork projects and filling out the hyperlist media defaults list for the initial alpha, and others are working on imports of artwork sets in the background for the sync. The programmers are chipping away at all the bugs that are being posted in the forum as well as the private beta test discord but I'm seeing progress. I'm sure they will update a new version soon, so we can keep working out the bugs and adding more features. Hang tight, the work has been steady and no one has stopped investing in the beta upgrades.

Now that didnt hurt to put something together about an update. BUT WHY wait for two months and for someone to ask what is going on, a litttle update once a week wouldnt hurt......

Does it hurt to be an asshole on every single post on these forums?  You have made quite a name for yourself and it has not been unnoticed. Keep your comments cordial and act like you have a little bit of respect for the people who are trying to juggle multiple things on top of the home lives please. If you can't do that you can just go back to the frontend that we are supposedly trying to clone. No more disrespect or you will not have the ability to post here anymore. Nobody cares about Hyperspin 2 anymore thanks to poor/non existent communication and the fact that it's NOT the Hyperspin any of us want.

I literally forgot about this months ago and haven't even looked at it once, but had to chime in once I seen this post.

To think I went onto Launchbox forums bragging that Hyperspin was back and would soon take over once more ......

I'm not arguing with you that it's frustrating to be in the dark about the progress and I personally think that they should have waited to get the beta to a more stable one before it was opened up to the public. The fact is that the one who has the authority to release the beta was just super excited to show you guys that it is happening. 

I am all about the posts on your frustration and concerns, however, be an adult and don't take pop shots and slide in verbally aggressive insults towards the ones that are trying to get everything smoothly running and utilize everything that is requested from you guys integrated into a massive endeavor. 

That being said, I am not on the team that is doing the programming and engineering, I am just providing artwork for them as they request. I don't have a lot of free time to check in on the forum, but I'm trying to answer the questions that I have information on as I come across them. Now that is not a frequent thing as I have a lot of stuff that is going on with my personal life on top of contributing what I am able in the free time which is basically 12am to 6am sometimes. 

I would just like to see a mutual respect amongst us instead of being rude and feeling like you have to reply to everyone who posts on the forum with a comment that is not helpful and actually just trying to discredit any and all work that is being done, while not having any idea of what Is actually going on. He's a jerk and he has been constantly posting trash for the last few months at least. I'm sorry you have abandoned the idea of hs2 but I urge you to take another look at it once it's finished and buttoned up. 

 

Cliff notes:  be angry and comment on what is frustrating to you, but be an adult and don't blatantly insult anyone who is not trying to be the enemy and you have to be patient with us to help with information IF they are aware of the situation behind the scenes. Thank you for your understanding and support in this situation and you are not being held against your will if you want to leave, but we are hoping you stick around with us.

Hello hyperspiners!

It would be nice if someone aware of the development progress would at least update us, who are waiting, on what's been done so far. Something like a dev log. If a new build isn't ready, there's nothing to publish, so at least give us some information on what's been done over the past week or month.

It's been almost three months without any news—anyone might think the project has simply stalled, but they're still waiting and hoping.

Just give us regular updates on what's been done...

That’s just it - this IS the Hyperspin that a lot of us want. A beautiful front end that is easy to set up. Because it was so easy to set up, I’m testing multiple wheels in HS2 that I never bothered to set up in classic HS.
 

Hyperspin simply shows themes and a wheel. And the theme building capabilities are insane.
 

As far as dev updates go, I’m content to know that work continues. I know it’s not ready yet, but it will be incredible.

I really hope that the xml databases will be reimplemented in order to organize as we want our wheels in hyperspin.

I have spend years to achieve custom and rearange databases so I undrstand the frustation of some to not be able to use our work on the new hyperspin.

But we apprecied the override folder for the artworks.

I can safely say, I HAVE NOT BEEN RUDE, in any of my posts. All I've been asking is for some regular updates, which is NOT TOO MUCH TO ASK FOR.........

Yes, we all have busy lives and some of us, have stared death in the face and have come out the other side, but still make time to add to the forum.

And as the Front End I use, MameWah, Is no concern to you...............

I am not being rude, it is Constructive Criticism.

This is the trouble with you youngsters nowadays, anything you dont like, you play the WOKE CARD........

Instead of, just saying I am Rude, just give us what we are asking, regular updates, not when you feel like it......

This is the trouble of this Forum, it becomes Toxic if someone says anything the goes against the grain, I've seen many a member in the past, just give up and Leave.

Look, I am not some snotty nosed kid, who is hiding in his Bedroom, I am a 59, nearly 60 year old guy, who is a Maintenance Manager, with over 100 guys under me and the way some of you carry on, on here, like the False Promises, on the updates we were going to get, you would have been SACKED.....

Again, we have the same thing to deal with in our own lives and supervisors as well. However, this is what we are doing outside of that. It's not going to be a convenience for anyone but we have to expect that there are not going to be an organized scheduling option to post updates, especially when there's nothing to update about if programming is ongoing and hasn't been completed with whatever they may be programming at the moment.   Lol ps I'm the youngest at 42 and rondar has a few years on me so I'm sure he will be flattered to be referred to as a youngster lmao. Let's just keep this at the neutral tone as we have maintained here in the future and we will not have any other problems with each other and more so, get back to the positive community that we used to have. 

When it comes down to it, that is what this is all about.  We're all too damn old to be treating each other like this when there's geek shit that needs to be done. Agreed?  

Bottom line, I hear you and I will try to make more time to post updates on what is happening. And I hope that you can understand me, and my request that you just tone down the passive aggressive commenting on the forums when you can. Thanks sir

Wow, ya know how long we waited between HS 1.0 to HS 1.3? and then HS 1.3 to HS 1.4? and then HS 1.4 to HS 1.5?

We waited and waited. Many not so patiently.  Many, including myself,  decided to contribute while we waited and it Helped blossum HS to what it is now.

Many have donated their time. effort and love without pay and obviously not much gratitude.

Though the times have changed some toxic attitudes have not. Such a shame.

Your free to speak your mind as we ALL are. But remember, speech works both ways.

 

Here is my "Constructive Criticism" Try being a littlle more gracious and patient not so entitlled, leave politics out of this hobby and lobby.

The belittlement of the "woke" youngsters who are trying to provide you with a new exprience is not going to give you the desired effect your hoping for.

This redesign, revamp, starting from the ground up overhaul is going to take some time. Somtimes without updates. Who was it who said "When its done"?

To coin another, term this one from HS 1.0 tagline, "This aint gonna be your Grandms's, Grandmas's Front End!"

So from one oldster to another, (I'm 65 yrs young) an oldster like you should know this.

Look guys, I am sorry for some of my comments. Its just Frustration on my part, that I cannot see what is going on. 

Yes I know we have busy lives, with work and personal things, but I do find some time to do things that are important to me, life threw me a curve ball, couple of years ago, which changed my out look. All I can say, I ended up with a Quad Heart-By pass.

I come on here and see nothing happening and feel that us Members are just being ignored.

I know other Members, that I talk to and they feel the same.

All I ask and others, can we please have updates on a bit regular basis.

Cant argue about the frustration but I always know somthing is happening. Alot is to do with art which seems not interesting but is the main draw of Hyperspin.

It is THEE standard setter that all other FE's strive for across all platforms. (pc, retropie, launchbox...etc).

Another big area is troubleshooting and that is where you should focus. If you announce bugs, in a constructive way, youll probably get a response or at least get their attention. HS 2.0 is the art, the setup and the launch all in one. So be frustrated but be patient.
