floatingyeti Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 A big thank you to craiganderson for providing the themes and some of the wheels used in this project! The criteria for this wheel 1. I could find the ROM (commercial, demo, homebrew) 2. I could run the game in BlueMSX Its 2am and I'm exhausted. I guess I'll get to work on MSX Turbo-R tomorrow.
craiganderson Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 Thanks for making the database etc.....that's awesome! I think I like the original main screen background that I sent to you better than the one I changed it to (see video below). And I REALLY like the background for the default theme that you added!! ..looks great I like what you did with my wheels (i.e. the little disks etc). (and the ones u replaced with better artwork) I will upload the videos that I recorded to emumovies when I get a chance as well. After I sent you the download of my stuff...I started adding some additional artwork to my themes/wheels etc....see below ..............(but i could not find artwork for every game.) ..............and I think I may have added a few more games (SONYC comes to mind...its in video below) the original thread for msx2+ (http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/showthread.php?36057-Microsoft-MSX2-wheels) eq4nhI5PtoQ I had cutout the ship from this game: "laydock 2" which I think is appropriate for the main menu theme because I think it is only on msx2+ thanks again for helping finish this project!!!! awesome work !! oh yeah....the border I used for the video is from the sega naomi theme....so thank you to THK! http://craigandersonthemes.weebly.com/
floatingyeti Posted August 16, 2014 Author Posted August 16, 2014 the background in the main theme was one of the files you sent me. I just used my favorite version. I pivoted the ship in the background to fly in the same direction as the other. sonyc I couldn't get to run tetris 2 special edition I couldn't find the rom also I'm still looking for manbow 2 and bet your life
floatingyeti Posted August 16, 2014 Author Posted August 16, 2014 if anyone has additional games (that run) pm me. I will add them to the project.
craiganderson Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 oh yeah...i think with sonyc i had to try a couple of different roms ill pm u with it it works...but before it loads it asks you if u want normal or easy (ie have to enter N or E) and then it takes a few seconds to load but....it works....just tested it see my bezel image below ALSO anybody know....how to load multiple disks on bluemsx?? i dont know much about multiple disk games on any system.... so i cut out a little hole in my bezel so the "FILE" option of the emulator is clickable and thus i can load a second disk....lol see second image below.... http://craigandersonthemes.weebly.com/

floatingyeti Posted August 16, 2014 Author Posted August 16, 2014 manbow 2 is a fanmade sequel I know it exists because there are videosnaps for bet your life manbow 2 on emumovies but cant find the roms
floatingyeti Posted August 16, 2014 Author Posted August 16, 2014 if you map a button to lctrl+f9 you can open the load disk window
craiganderson Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 manbow2 is available for free download on this page http://541y.free.fr/ i did not test it yet http://craigandersonthemes.weebly.com/
floatingyeti Posted August 16, 2014 Author Posted August 16, 2014 thank you I saw this page before but missed it. Due to the confusing nature of all of the msx2/2+/turbo games I was going to include most of the games on that link with turbo-r wheel.
floatingyeti Posted August 16, 2014 Author Posted August 16, 2014 sonyc and manbow 2 files uploaded database files revised
floatingyeti Posted August 16, 2014 Author Posted August 16, 2014 manbow 2 I can load the title screen but cant launch the game when selecting start or continue
floatingyeti Posted August 17, 2014 Author Posted August 17, 2014 I'm currently making a MSX Turbo-R database but it will take awhile. I downloaded every game from http://541y.free.fr/ (The vast majority I don't know if they are made for msx2/2+ or turbo-r) so Im just putting them in the turbo-r database. Im sorting through the whole set and keeping only the games that will automatically launch in BlueMSX. Once that's done I will add all the games from TOSEC set and any Turbo-R translated games.
floatingyeti Posted August 17, 2014 Author Posted August 17, 2014 After really digging into making an msx databases I realize that msx2/2+/turbo-r libraries must be merge into one huge database. There are 3000 msx2 disks to still go through in the tosec library. I'll just have the wait for the Hyperspin Project database to be released. I will say that I went through a lot of the msx2 homebrew games and they are awesome! Hopefully a database is released soon and I'll start making msx wheels and videos again
jcm9800 Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 thanks for all your work on this systems i have made my setup with msx 1 on the romsets whats gamebase using about 640 so far not perfekt but its better then nothing at the moment [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
floatingyeti Posted August 17, 2014 Author Posted August 17, 2014 I would be interested to see your msx1 database. Does it include manf/year/genre?
jcm9800 Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 no its based only on the names of the roms from the gamebase set no manf/year/ or other infos are on this xml so far but its better then nothing for the moment [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
phulshof Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 I have an MSX1 XML file for the carts only so far; it's based on the TOSEC rom set / dat files. It does include manufacturer and year, but not genre.
jcm9800 Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 cool will be good i you share with us phulshof [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
phulshof Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 I intend to do so, but I'm currently still testing it, and sorting art files. The naming system is also inconsistent with the new naming rules here, so that's something I need to discuss too.
phulshof Posted June 8, 2015 Posted June 8, 2015 You can track the progress here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1-lZRxtGSs9EMNXlBU7PFULlI_tu3GIY6QCk0EWF5DiU/edit#gid=27618270 If people want, I could make WIP available, but I'm not sure of the status of the FTP site at the moment, nor on how to deal with which artwork can be put where. Some of it comes from the HS FTP, some from EmuMovies, and the rest was gathered from various sources on the internet. I don't think I can put the EmuMovies material on the HS FTP site for example.
