SamVSsami
Hi All, Just wanted to share with you my last project; my home made arcade cabinet that plays HyperSpin and Xbox360. You Can even add the PS3 (if I had one). Because the components I've used are from the 3 in 1 Arcade stick Pro. It took me about a month to build this one from scratch with no plan only the one that I had in my head . I’ve uploaded 3 videos. In the first one you can see the arcade machine how it looks and acts with HyperSpin. In the second video we’ll take a quick look to the back of the machine. And in the third and last video I’m showing you that the controls also actually work on the XBOX360. NOTE I do not have to plug the controls from HyperSpin to the XBOX, because they are already connected with a split USB cable that goes to the pc and the XBOX Let me know in the comments what you think about it and give me a heads up if you want a video about a specific part of the cabinet or a “how to “. Enjoy! PS The cabinet will get a Trackball in the empty space between the joysticks in the very near future . I actually do have a question about this I was thinking to get something like Apple’s Magic Trackpad instead of a Trackball to play games like “House of the dead” that I play normally with the mouse. Anyone got an idea if this actually could work out and is a smart/dumb idea? Here are the video's: TsTmx-rBNdQ WPiwLYEkH5Y 8Woh1hJNfUM

EmuMovies has also a lot of great other intro's Good luck! http://www.megaupload.com/?d=UGTXVOWZ
Lucian045
Nice job. I am very interested in seeing how you connected the controls for XBOX and for the PC. Can you show that or put a link in to where you went to for doing this? Thanks.
billpa
Looks like Blanka's retro space cab. Is this blanka or did you copy the design? Looks pretty cool. Would also like to hear how you integrated the 360.
SamVSsami
Looks like Blanka's retro space cab. Is this blanka or did you copy the design? Looks pretty cool. Would also like to hear how you integrated the 360. Hi, Yes I was inspired by this cab http://www.retrospace.nl/. And it does indeed look like it. I am glad because I didn't had a building plan, so figured it all out by myself Your next question and the question of another member about the Xbox/pc controls can be explained rather easy. I used the original Arcade Fightstick (with USB) for it. [/img] Rerouted the button to the arcade. The USB itself works fine. If I put it in the PC I can play games, if I put it in the XBOX I can play games. That got me thinking. Do I have to go back there and put the USB in the right console to be able to play? I came across this site: http://www.instructables.com/ And there they show how you can make a "double Keyboard" I applied the same principle to the controller. I bought a USB extender and another usb cable. Cit the extender open and attached the other usb cable. So it has now 2 USB "Ports". Because it is an extender I could connect my Arcade controller direct to it. One end goes in the XBOX and the other in the PC. Note one console must be turned off to play with the other, because they are both connected The Arcade Fightstick has the XBOX button to turn off and on. So When I fir up my arcade it starts up with Hyperspin (the PS). If I turn off the pc and turn on the Xbox ( through the dedicated XBOX button I Can play the XBOX en vice versa. Here is some pdf documentation how they got the keyboards to work. I applied the same principle: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=QBUUJRLF
SamVSsami
Hi All, Since this is my first self made cabinet I didn't know what the "procedure” is on the board. I saw that a lot of you build amazing things and showed step by step photo’s how you made it. So I thought maybe I can share the same thing with you guys. Is there a upload site I can use to share all the photo’s (about 300) with you, so you can see how I built this from scratch? Let me know And ooh yeah if you like it please post a comment...it's my first so I need some confidence I don't have a lot of experience (better to say no) sawing one big piece. So I saw two rectangular pieces first and put the piece for the joystick in between. Screwed everything up tight My Working area and my “professional” tools My well out thought “master plan” It finally starts to look kind of like an arcade… That’s all for now. If you want to see more just hit me up. And if you know a site where I can share these kind of photo’s easily …let me know

SamVSsami
Hi All, I just started uploading the files in the FTP directory “SonicJihad”. The Database, script settings and Main Menu themes are already up. I am now busy uploading all the MAME themes, Wheels etc. I will add one “console/arcade” directory per day. So keep on the lookout the coming days. Note I did note upload the videos of the “console/arcade” directory, because a question about that is still pending at the administrator. Most of them are from EMUmovies and I don’t know if posting them is against policy. So I’ll have to wait to get (hopefully) the green light on that. Good luck downloading! SamVSsami
Hi All, Could anybody please help me out with the following question: The cabinet will get a Trackball in the empty space between the joysticks in the very near future . I actually do have a question about this I was thinking to get something like Apple’s Magic Trackpad instead of a Trackball to play games like “House of the dead” that I play normally with the mouse. Anyone got an idea if this actually could work out and is a smart/dumb idea? I don't have a trackball nor a Trackpad. Has anybody had any experience with the Trackpad or something similar? I have to know this before I buy the one or the other. Some advice requested from the veterans I want to start building soon...so any help is welcome! Blanka2
Well, thank you very much. I'm truly honoured by this straight plagiarism. Next time order the DIY kit: even easier . Kind of surprised by your side panels. Why are they not one piece? Well you must have been in the Dutch Game Garden! Are you going to copy my entrance desk too ? Oh, and how is the control panel made? Even that looks very close.

Are you going to copy my entrance desk too ? Oh, and how is the control panel made? Even that looks very close. Blanka I'm not trying to steal anything. I was inspired by the beautiful arcade (you?) made. And made my own. If I knew there was a DIY version...trust me I would've order it . About the side panels.... the only thing I had was a electric handsaw...so I thought it would be easier for me to make it in 3 pieces... I do not have any "professional" tools, so that was the best option for me. I didn't meant to offend anybody with this "plagiarism" Just wanted to see If I could make a cabinet and went to work... I have to say all my friends love it, so how much is a DIY kit anyway PS I don't know what the Dutch Game Garden is?

SamVSsami
Ik zit zelf in Eindhoven, maar eerste woensdag van de maand kun je tijdens de lunch binnenlopen. Hi All, I went today to the Neude 5 to look at Blanka2's Cabinet. There was no sign of Blanka himself and I spoke to the a guy there who told me that they only had two cabinets and they weren’t gamecabinet's but just internet ones. He also told me that there have never been cabinets there. He told me they got those cabinets as a promotion and didn't do any business with the production company in Eindhoven. So you guys can image how disillusioned I went back home Really was looking forward to see those cabinets...but hell shit happens. I did manage to make some shots of the internetcabinet though
