barakawins
Ok.. Hours of config work and then hooking up to CGA Standard Res monitor and ArcadeVGA 5000 freezes up. Arcade Monitor - neotec NT-S501 CGA monitor ArcadeVGA 5000 - With Windows 7 drivers Windows 7 Ultimate Operating System Hyperspin Front end Issue: Windows desktop will show at 640 x 288 which I guess is ok. The problem is that when you enter the hyperspin wheel, the main videos freeze up and the screen turns green. Hyperspin locks up. I tried getting into windows media player and disabled hardware acceleration which did nothing. anyone know a work around for this and why the video and hyperspin is freezing up? Tried Ultimarc and waiting for Andy to respond. I loaded the Standard Windows 7 drivers but hyperspin still freezes up. Thanks
therealdealadam
The resolution should be 640x480 Have you got the correct drivers? http://www.ultimarc.com/avgadrivers.html http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35 or try the other port on graphics card once you have the drivers.. DrMaxwell
The green video when playing mp4 videos is the drivers for your video card. I would say it is crashing when the flash is playing. Update your adobe flash, your arcade vga drivers and go into a youtube video, then right click and disable hardware acceleration from there. After that load hyperspin and generate a log to come back here and post your results with. That might tell us more about what is going on and eliminate several possibilities at the same time. dougan78
I believe to fix the videos you need to install fire fox. Install flash player for fire fox. Go to youtube. Click a video to play it. Right click on vid and disable hardware acceleration. Good luck.

Thanks few questions What drivers are you using? did you try running at 480 interlaced? If you are using the CRT_EmuDriver, did you run VMMaker to generate appropriate modelines? showstopper
I thought the flash fix was only for Intel HD integrated graphics?

barakawins
I'm using the windows 7 drivers provided by Ultimarc 480 interlaced Question - how do you run 480 interlaced? Where do you go for this option? I only can pick video resolutions which are 32bit.
Anpanman
if you are using the official avga drivers, drop down to the video mode tray menu and see if 640x480 is on there. then run HS to see if it helps.
barakawins
Ok... The fix was installing flash player. But after installing you have to run a flash video. Then right click the video and disable hardware acceleration in settings. Now I'm good. But, the ArcadeVGA card does not run a good picture on my Neotech 25" monitor at 640 x 480. 640 x 288 runs a stable pic and it looks ok. Not really sharp but I guess it's not supposed to be. Now I'm getting and OpenGL error running daphne. Any game I pick is giving me LoadLibrary failed with error 126: The specified Module could not be found. This is OpenGL related. Could it be that the ArcadeVGA 5000 doesn't support OpenGL? How to fix this?
123jimbo
Didn't think the AVGA did OpenGL.
barakawins
Man.. I'm really starting to believe that using Hyperspin on an arcade monitor just simply blows. I'm better off hooking into a 25" crt monitor and calling it a day. I'm not sure if anyone else feels the same, but configuring all the other emulators is just not possible at full resolution. Unless I'm missing something here. Anyone have success with this card running mame, daphne and other emulators/ I can get mame to display somewhat well, but not the others. 123jimbo
I'm using a AVGA5000 with a 68cm CRT,.. Currently only using Daphne & Mame and both looked acceptable. My project is currently dormant,.. Hope to get back to it soon.
barakawins
Update... Setting the screen resolution to 640 x 480 makes the windows screen jittery. I tried running hyperspin and the result was that some game screens were jittery as well. Now, here's a kick in the pants... All emulator screens are jittery as well. I guess they are using 640 x 480 as well. I got a call into Andy from Ultimarc to hopefully clear some of this stuff up. OpenGL apparently is supported. But I cannot get it to run. Seems like a true headache here using a CGA monitor which apparently cannot support 640 x 480 resolution from the card. I'm wondering if I should be using another video card and just use Soft 15hz. Anyone use soft15hz and can shed some light on if this fixed resolutions for all games including emulators?
barakawins
Update.. Fixed many issues.. I hope this helps someone cuz it sure took me a long time to figure this out. The cabinet I'm using is Arcade Legends one. Converting to Hyperspin with multiple emulators. Monitor: Neotec NT-S501 - Standard resolution (comes in legends cab) (Limitations of this monitor in resolution: 640 x 288) 640 x 480 - Can be seen but is blurry and jittery. If you have this monitor or any other with limitations of 640 x 288 - All emulators have to be set to this resolution for the screen not to jitter. There is your solution. ArcadeVGA5000 - Ultimarc card. Had problems with this card initially. Couldn't get games with OpenGL to run. (solution: OpenGL was still somehow embedded as a driver from the old ATI card I had in there before switching to the ArcadeVGA 5000. I uninstalled the existing ATI drivers from within device manager. Your screen will go black. Force shut down. Install ArcadeVGA 5000 and the correct windows drivers which came with your card. OpenGL now works and is fixed) One final problem I'm having is my task bar. I'm using Windows 7 and every time I go to change my screen resolutions to be able to change settings in my emulators, the taskbar disappears. Not sure what is causing this but if someone could shed some light on this it would be much appreciated! Hope this helps someone.
