Fromlostdays Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 This is easily accomplished by simply editing the main menu xml, but I'd like to request a tool, maybe with a gui to make it faster. I've separated Hyperspin and Hyperlaunch, and in the end, I want to set up every system I possibly can on the HL side, while only displaying certain systems on the HS side. I'm making an assumption here, but I think this can be accomplished as I think HL now reads its own system xml. So, since I can't program shit, I figured I'd ask if anyone can make like a quick simple tool (maybe even simple as a systems list with checkboxes next to each system) that would essentially rewrite the HS (and I guess HL) system xmls on the fly. I sort of still wish it was a feature of HL, but I get it, they doing their own thing. Anyway, thanks for the heads up! Anyone finding this, you can enable/disable any systems with the above tool (they don't get deleted they get grayed out and go to the bottom of the list in the gui and taken out of the main menu xml) You can also drag and drop systems to change the order. If you want to try it be sure to get v11 at the very end of the post. Don't get the version on the main page he's going to make a new thread soon. You get a new wheel and this allows you to create saved or temporary genres of you liking by searching games or years or genres or favorites or systems. You could just select the stuff of your liking and tnks 3 and 4 bullet is fulfilled. Because HL isn't tied to anything, it would be extremely easy to make multiple copies of Hyperspin and set them up as different front ends in Hyperlaunch. It wouldn't even take up that much space as the only duplicates would be wheel/box art, as you can change your video directory. And of course, the emu and rom paths aren't tied to Hyperspin at all. So you could have Hyperspin.exe (main install) Hyperspin4kids.exe (second install, different system databases, main menu xml etc and copied box/wheel art) So on. The hardest part would be picking out the games for the systems xmls, but that would have to be done anyway. Anyway, last step is to go into HL and set up all the exes as different front ends. I tested probably about 12 versions of the beta and finally got to a good version (v11) and its posted at te last page of the current forum. If you ever wanted genre wheels for you system wheel, or ultimate favorite wheels, that's the app to use I think.
