barrica
Hello guys, Just wanted to post a few pics of my finished cab. Its been a very challenging and rewarding experience, but totally worth it. I've learnt lots, and thank you to all the contributions and invaluable advice on here. I'd estimate that all in all its taken around 3 months to complete, and cost about £600 total. Currently being enjoyed in the lounge, but according to the wife that is not an "appropriate permanent home"!! Can't wait to get started on the next project! Bigodassa
What type of sticker did you use on your cpo? Is it vinil? How did you manage to get it so shiny?
barrica
What type of sticker did you use on your cpo? Is it vinil? How did you manage to get it so shiny? Thanks Guys, Regarding the CP, yes its carbon fibre vinyl, but with a clear perspex panel over the top with holes cut for the buttons and joystick. The vinyl is sticky back ,so sticks directly to the MDF underneath, the buttons then hold the perspex in place.
Bigodassa
@barrica thnx for the quick reply. I can see the persplex now, I was using tapatalk on my cellphone and I could only see the reflex effect of the material. Great job, it looks awesome! deano71
How did you bend the perspex?
Gerurver
I use a home made perspex bender. you can buy one for over 500, or make yourself one for under 25:-) and you can bend up to 3mm or 4 mm. if you dont want that, you can choose lexan, you can bend it by hand (max 2mm) never get cracks in it ! but there is a catch, lexan is softer, so it will get more scratches. but i know, there are now lexan with a special coating against scratches. griffin518
What did you use on the top and bottom of the plexi covering your display? I'm planning a build and looking at options for covering that gap as well.
