Yardley Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 I'm aware that the standard wheel size is 400x175 px but looking at my main menu wheels and some systems like Taito Type X, none of them seem to follow these dimensions and are kind of all over the place. Can someone please clarify this? I'd like to fix whatever wheels are not sized properly. Reason I started looking into this is some of my wheels, especially for PC games, are really overlapping each other and I thought it may have to do with them not being sized correctly. I've also read about people adding canvas space to help with this but I tried it, gave a wheel 300px of height from the original 175 and I didn't really see a difference. Can someone please explain?
SUBZERO Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 The wheels need to be 400x wide and can variable in height, i have a wheel auditor that u can use in PS. just select a wheel folder and it will resize all wheel properly BBB made it especially for that reason. i'll hook you up tomorrow

SIMPLYAUSTIN Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 Faster, quicker and much easier solution is this: http://www.fotosizer.com/ Styphelus hit me up with this and it was a great share Good for both Widescreen and just basic resizes in batch Simply Austin's YouTube
Yardley Posted April 10, 2015 Author Posted April 10, 2015 Thanks, I'll check it out. Just to make sure I understand this correctly, If I'm making a new wheel image the height can vary so I can resize the image setting the width to 400 and let PS determine the height with the constrain proportions option, is that correct? But with any image that ends up being less than 175x in height, should I increase the canvas size on those to be 175x minimum?
dark13 Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 I usually prefer to create an action where the imnage is scaled proportionally then canvas is normalized. The only problem is some wheels may have different proportion, so scaling 400px on X may give an higher resolution than 175px on Y. Hyperspin consider only X resolution to scale images. This is helpful for some graphic trick... Hyperspin use the same position for genre wheel, adding some empty space on genre .pngs you can have them at a different position Automatizing infopanels creation from .csv files for HTPCs themes (look at infopanel tutorial.zip on the ftp in dark13 folder) PNGs to SWFs automatized flash scripts Hyperspin Wheelset automatized template (photoshop's variables + batch) Aeon nox 4.13 W.I.P. hyperspin skin
