rfancella Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 Wow Dougan! That is sweet!! Thanks, Ron Code Monkey and all around Command Line geek!If you like what someone has said or done for you, be sure and 'Thank' them. And if they changed your life, send them a Beer!
Metalzoic Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 Man that turned out really nice looking. Looks like a fun table. I'm glad you didn't gut it. That should never happen to a table unless it's so far past saving the only other option is to throw it away. Good job man!
dougan78 Posted August 22, 2015 Author Posted August 22, 2015 Got some 4 player action in at the office. Interesting to note and maybe all pins are this way if someone locks up multi ball and doesn't get it the next player can activate it. That is cool. I am not sure the lane diverter is working on the right ramp. Will need to run a diag. But still plays good and is easy to do stuff so I am happy with the machine even though when I bought it I had no idea what it was. Really turned out well. Will post more pics once I get it all finalized.
dougan78 Posted August 29, 2015 Author Posted August 29, 2015 Diverter is in fact working so that is good. New playfield glass will be in next week. The metal spinners I had made are in. Need to figure out putting that together. 16 mil is the high score so far and competition is heating up at the office as we figure out tricks to get that score up there. Thinking I need to sandwich 3 of them to get them on the spinner bar and use something to hold them together. They are made of solid stainless. Any ideas on this let me know.
Metalzoic Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 You had those spinners made? That's awesome, they look really cool. Not sure what the best thing to glue stainless together is though. Rivet?
ninja2bceen Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 I have no idea what I'm talking about first but if you can get a small hole on both sides of that bar and fit a pin through them. Then they wouldn't go anywhere it looks like Tapatalk signature Advance the cause to 100%. http://hyperbase.hyperspin-fe.com/ Planet Geekdom, Subscribe for Tutorials! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdcby-s2GwriaOHGmVC2vGA?sub_confirmation=1&app=desktop
dougan78 Posted September 5, 2015 Author Posted September 5, 2015 Well machine freaked us out. It talks!! Did a sound test and not all the sounds work. Not sure what the deal is but I emailed my guy who fixed up the mpu last time. Will see. Did not realize it even had speech until we activated some event. The saga continues..
dougan78 Posted September 14, 2015 Author Posted September 14, 2015 Well no news on the sounds yet. Got the new playfield glass installed. Its like playing in hd now!
dougan78 Posted January 11, 2016 Author Posted January 11, 2016 Had a guy out today and he fixed a bunch of small stuff and diagnosed the voices to a couple chips on the main board. Since I had the board "fixed" already, rather than send it out to get fixed will leave it for now. Machine plays better than ever and I like it how it is for now. In the future if I have spare money will do 2 new ramps and a rottendog board but for now I will settle with working on getting getting high scores and having fun. Cheers
32assassin Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 very nice, for us virtual users, I have been working on a VP X version of this table, all the pink stuff is missing 3d models I need to make. (given that I still need to learn how to do them it will be a long time before i finish) any chance you can take a close up epicure of the lower drain plastics, the clear ones, I need to know what they say so that I can finish mine.
dougan78 Posted January 11, 2016 Author Posted January 11, 2016 Funny I can do that for sure. Give me a day or 2.

dougan78 Posted March 6, 2016 Author Posted March 6, 2016 Pinball down!!! Half the coils stopped working. Ball return, kickouts, and pop bumpers. Fuses look good. Time to check for voltage. Never ends
Metalzoic Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 Never ends Don't tell me that... I'm about to receive my first table in the next few weeks. Last thing I need is another time-sucking hobby to piss off my wife.
dougan78 Posted March 6, 2016 Author Posted March 6, 2016 Don't tell me that... I'm about to receive my first table in the next few weeks. Last thing I need is another time-sucking hobby to piss off my wife. Well to be fair it ran 3 months under ever weekday use. So not surprised I waxed the playfield twice. Home use will be lighter I suspect so hopefully fewer problems. But they need tlc so if I dont have time to figure stuff out have a good repair guy. I found one but he is always a month or more booked. So if u have kids looking for a fun job seems like pinball and arcade repair people have more work than they can handle In my area anyway. Good luck.
dougan78 Posted March 19, 2016 Author Posted March 19, 2016 Status update. Repair dude showed up. Laughed at my solder job in the aux power driver board. I rebuilt it due to a bunch of bad components and don't solder well apparently... Said well it was working. As he was leaving with board he noticed a trace under a bridge rectifier that was blown off. Wish I had more time to work on it myself but life too busy and I knew it was something with that board. Oh well be another week or so before he comes back with it fixed as he wants to test it in another machine. Should have blown a fuse not the trace. Cant wait!
dougan78 Posted March 20, 2016 Author Posted March 20, 2016 Here is hind sight on this machine maybe any machine that is purchased has board issues. It may be a good idea to go the replace the boards route if you are short on time and to eliminate future problems. They make new boards for most system 11 games. Most my problems have been with main board and aux power driver and those you can buy replacement new ones. Probably would have been better off.
Metalzoic Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 In my experience, anytime someone laughs at your solder job you should immediately kick 'em in the nuts.
kactussjack Posted May 10, 2016 Posted May 10, 2016 Hi Dougan. Just came across this thread. I am currently working on a Police Force restoration and I see that you made your own spinner. Do you have a spare one you would like to sell? I can't find one anywhere. If not do you have a dwg or the dimensions of the spinner you could send me. I only have the round half. How did you attach the shaft? What is the diameter of the shaft? Also would it be possible to get a scan or close photo of the cat at the rt outlane & the spaceman in the shooter lane? Any help you could provide would be appreciated. Thanks. Dennis

Any help you could provide would be appreciated. Thanks. Dennis it is funny you mention this. We have been playing with out the spinner. I have no idea what the original spinner was made of. Mine came with the post to attach the metal spinner to. So i bought the stickers and had new stainless steel spinners made. Based on photos I have seen of the entire spinner box (which is the spinner post with photosensor wheel, spinner, and the box that sits in the shooting lane) it looked like 2 hunks of metal sandwiched on the spinner post. The spinner post has a flat spot to accommodate that. So this evening my stainless steel templates were a bit too large so I had to grind them down and then put them on the wire wheel. I plan on using JB weld to sandwich them around the spinner post. Not sure if it will be too heavy or not. we shall see. If it works well i have extra templates that I did not grind down and will possibly be willing to part with those. however figured I would get feed back on my initial plan for that as I am now about ready to implement. Thanks for sharing! One of the chips on my motherboard is bad so there is no voice which my pinball repair guy said is ok cuz they are anoying. Cheers!
dougan78 Posted May 23, 2016 Author Posted May 23, 2016 Ok fyi the spinner is pretty impprtant and actually adds alot to the game surprisingly.
